Touya was beginning to quiver. I'm shaking....why? Am I afraid? Or am I excited? Suddenly, a vid screen opened up on his screen; it was Heero. His face was stern as he began to speak. "Touya. Promise me something."
"What is it?"
"Promise me that after this battle you will forget the ways of killing. It's a skill you don't need. Forget it while you can...or else you'll be drawn in the black oblivion created by it."
Heero's eyes bore a hole into Touya's as he waited for an answer. Touya, who had stopped his mobile suit because of Heero's rather unusual request, stared silently back at Heero. "Yeah. I promise.” Heero nodded once and closed the vid screen.
As they neared the horizon, dim outlines of mobile suits appeared. With the moon behind them, Touya and Heero dived into the midnight battle ahead of them.
Duo howled as he threw one Virgo at a group of Leos. The Virgo exploded and caused a chain reaction of explosions within the lines of the Leos. His radar showing someone coming up behind him, Duo whirled around and sent his scythe straight into the heart of the Taurus. In a bright flower of fire and death, the suit was destroyed.
Shaoran leapt from spot to spot as he evaded the enemies attack. They were extremely strong, and he didn't know if he'd be able to stop all of them, but he was going to try. Drawing his sword and taking out a magical slip of paper, Shaoran began his magic. "God of Fire, descend!!" A torrent of fire escaped from the paper and flew at oncoming beasts. Several of them managed to get away, but a few unluckier ones were stuck in the flame's way. After several seconds, the beasts trapped in the flame vanished with a piercing yowl. Shaoran's face lit up with a grim smile; he had a chance.
Sakura looked up at the castle in the sky. She was about to cast some magic to fly up there, but Kero stopped her. "Sakura! Save your magic. I'll fly you up there."
"But Kero-chan, it's not that..."
"I said save your magic. Now get on," Kero said in a commanding voice.
Sakura nodded and got on. She then noticed that Eriol was doing the same, but on Spinel Sun. Smiling at Sakura, Eriol and Spinel Sun lifted into the air. "Let's go, Sakura-chan." The girl being spoken to nodded her head. "Hai!"
Flames danced around Wufei's Gundam. Wufei, though, was not worried. This was because he had caused the ring of flame. After demolishing a squadron of mobile suits around him, they had all exploded and formed the fiery halo. Not bothering to look at the dancing flames any longer, Wufei leapt out of the ring and proceeded to destroy more mobile suits.
Trowa was raining bullets onto the enemy. He wasn't sure what he would do after he ran out of bullets, but he would come up with something. Until then, his mind was focused on the mobile suits in front, behind, above, to the left, to the right, and below him. Long lines of explosions were credited to Heavyarms Kai's pilot.
With blades shining, Sandrock plowed through the heart of the enemy force. Slashing to the left and right, Quatre caused severe damage to the overall number of mobile suits. Spinning around onto his back, Quatre fired his vulcans into the thick of mobile suits, causing even more damage. The Gundam pilots were beginning to see a victory in the far distance.
Enemy troops in Sakura's world didn't know what was happening when bright beams of yellow came crashing into their camp. There were several shouts of "enemy attack", and then mass havoc broke out. There were soldiers running to mobile suits, men running to anti-mobile suit missile stations, and all over the place. The beams didn't stop coming though. The shots were actually getting more accurate.
Some of the mobile suits were finally up and began a counter-attack. With the Virgos in front to form a shield for all, they proceeded onwards towards the enemy. Nearby, they saw the figure of a Taurus in front of the moon. Thinking it was only one suit that was attacking, they were surprised when a beam of energy came from the trees nearby. Without letting the enemy gather their senses, Touya and Heero unleashed a relentless attack on the soldiers.
At what a person could call the palace gates, Sakura and the others encountered several of Galantha's beasts. Motioning to Sakura, Yue, Kero, and Ruby Moon, Eriol said, "You guys keep going. Spinel and I will take care of these guys. We'll catch up with you."
Sakura was about to protest, but Eriol cut her off with a smile and nod. Sakura smiled back. The group left, and Eriol and Spinel Sun faced the blue-black beasts.
Galantha's creatures attacked first with a cascade of black magic. Easily leaping out of the way, Spinel Sun attacked with his own black magic. Striking the beast head on, it soon vanished. Looking at the remaining beasts, Spinel Sun grinned. "This should take no time at all!!"
His words were true, for within five minutes, the remaining beasts were destroyed.
Sakura and her group of guardians came to a fork in the paths of the castle. Looking to the left and then to the right, Sakura decided to go to the left. Before long, Eriol and Spinel Sun came to the same fork. Not knowing which way Sakura and the others went, they went down the right hallway.
Sakura had gone down the hallway that led straight into Galantha's chamber. As they entered, a chilling voice spoke. "Well, if it isn't Sakura Kinomoto. Welcome to my chamber." Sakura whirled around and found Galantha closing the door behind her and locking it. "Little girl, I don't like the idea of ruining my nice room to fight you, so let's take this outside, shall we?" She laughed coldly and vanished. Reappearing on her balcony, she beckoned for Sakura to follow. The balcony was extremely large and appeared to be a good area for battle. "Are you ready, mistress of the Sakura Cards?"
In the meantime, Eriol and Spinel Sun had found themselves in something like a library. One giant book sat open on a podium. Looking at what was written, Eriol discovered that it was the key to getting rid of Galantha. Tucking the book under his arm, he got back onto Spinel Sun and left to search for Sakura.
Heavyarms Kai had run out of bullets, Sandrock Kai had lost one of its blades, Deathscythe Hell Custom was also out of bullets, and Altron had lost one of its arms. The Gundam team seemed to be slightly out of luck. A ring of mobile suits had surrounded them and was closing in. Out of nowhere, Shaoran appeared next to the Gundams. Duo shouted over the intercom, "Li! What are you doing here?!"
"I've destroyed all of the magical beasts. So, I came to help you guys!"
Not saying another word, Shaoran took out another slip of magical paper. "Lord of Thunder! DESCEND!" Pouring all of his remaining magic into the attack, Shaoran managed to destroy all the mobile suits. After the attack ended, he wavered on his feet and then collapsed onto the ground, mind tumbling into a black abyss.
Duo shouted in horror as he watched his younger friend fall to the ground. "No! He can't die! Not after all he's done for us!!" Trowa's face appeared on the vid screen. "Don't worry, Duo. He passed out. That's all. I'll get him to safety, and you guys think of some way to kill Khasekova."
Without another word, Trowa gathered Shaoran in Heavyarms Kai's hand and left.
Trowa returned Shaoran to the safehouse where they had been staying recently. Spotting Wing Zero Custom in the hanger, Trowa came up with an idea. Heero would probably get very angry about it later, but it was for the good of the team.
Sakura had used all but three of her cards. Galantha came out on top every single time and was laughing with joy. "Soon, Sakura. Soon nothing will stand in my way. Nothing," she said, her voice like venom. Being quite exhausted with the overuse of her magic, Sakura was resting in Yue's arms. Ruby Moon and Kero were trying their hardest to defend the card mistress, but they would be overwhelmed before long.
Looking down at the worn out girl in his arms, Yue felt obligated to give Sakura a few words of hope. "Sakura-san....if it's you, then there will be no problem." Sakura looked through half-open eyes at her silver-haired friend. "Arigatou, Yue-san."
Standing back on her own two feet, Sakura faced Galantha with renewed determination. Looking at the three remaining cards she hadn't tried yet, she found out that they were the Light, the Dark, and the Hope.
Eriol had finally found Sakura. Landing neatly beside her, Eriol looked at Sakura. "Sakura-chan! The key to getting rid of Galantha is here!" Galantha screamed when she saw the book in Eriol's hands. "NO! Get away from that!!" She hurled a ball of energy at the boy. Galantha was furious.
Spinel Sun stepped in front of his master and took a direct hit. Eriol rushed over to his guardian's side and whispered, "Spinel Sun...are you all right?"
"I'm fine Eriol-san. Go help Sakura."
After releasing his staff, Eriol began to chant the spell inside of the book that would end Galantha's existence. Galantha could only witness in horror as the spell was finished. Eriol closed the book and faced Sakura. "All you have to do now is to defeat her. After that, she will be no more."
Sakura looked back at her cards and then at Yue and Kero. "Yue-san, Kero-chan...I'm going to have to..."
"We know. Let us help you, Sakura-san," said Yue. Kero nodded as well. Sakura looked at her friends with gratitude and joined them with the Light and Dark cards. Eriol, knowing that Sakura would be very vulnerable at this time, called Ruby Moon and Spinel Sun to protect her. Sakura then released the two cards and hoped for the best.
Trowa made it back to the battlefield in time to see his friends fighting an unusual mobile suit. It looked like a cross between a Taurus and a Virgo. Knowing that it was none other than Khasekova in that suit, Trowa advanced straight towards it.
At that moment his friends, who had been in a tight circle around the enemy suit, were flung in opposite directions. Trowa watched in horror and tried to contact them. None of them answered, but finally Duo appeared on his screen. "Trowa! What are you doing in Wing Zero Custom?! That's Heero's!"
"I know, but my Gundam is beat. I figured I would join the fight in a different mobile suit, and this one was just sitting in the hanger." Duo nodded rather painfully. "All right. Good luck, man....it's all up to you..."
Duo's voice trailed off. It wasn't long before the transmission went out as well. Trowa narrowed his eyes and glared at the last remaining suit. "Khasekova, I'm bringing you down!"
Touya wiped the sweat off his forehead. The area he stood in was completely black and decimated. In some areas there was a small fire, but most of it was just like a junk yard. Heero's mobile suit came over and stood next to Touya's. "Well, Touya, we're done here. It's up to Sakura now."
Touya nodded his head sadly. It's cruel to put such a heavy load on a little girl's shoulders. But Sakura can do it. I know she can.
The two streams of light and dark surrounded Galantha. She managed to keep them at bay, but could do nothing more. Eriol noticed and shouted to Sakura, "Sakura-chan!! The Light and Dark cards don't have enough power to do this themselves!! You have to use the Hope!!"
The Hope? The hope that Shaoran-kun gave up for me? Sakura managed to take out the third card, but failed to release it. "Eriol-kun! I don't have enough strength!!" she wailed. Eriol wrapped his hands around hers and said, "I'm right behind you. You can do this, Sakura-chan!"
The feeling of Eriol's magic streaming into her exhausted body was amazing. She released the Hope card, and it joined up with the Light and Dark. Galantha was fighting to keep her head above it all, but seemed to be failing. Suddenly, the three cards formed a glowing white sphere around the Mistress of the Universe. Sakura began to feel faint, but Eriol kept her holding on. Deciding that they might need more power, Eriol called to Ruby Moon and Spinel Sun. "You two! Help us please!!" Ruby Moon nodded and joined the glowing sphere, and Spinel Sun soon followed after.
There was a high pitched scream.
Continuously firing the beam cannon, Trowa followed the mobile suit tightly. He had nicked the suit several times, but decided that that was not the way to get rid of the suit. Dropping the beam cannon on the ground, Trowa drew his beam saber. Crashing towards Khasekova's mobile suit, Trowa neatly slashed off one of the arms.
Khasekova shouted a curse and struck back with his own beam saber. Blocking with one of the wings, Trowa made a counter-attack. He drove the beam saber straight through the torso of the enemy suit. Drawing the beam saber out of the now immobile machine, Trowa backed away just in time to avoid the explosion.
"Ninmu kanryou."
The glowing sphere shrank until it was nothing. Yue, Kero, Ruby Moon, and Spinel Sun returned to their original forms, and the three Sakura cards returned to Sakura. The girl smiled and whispered, "We did it." She then passed out into Eriol's arms. He too was tired, and sat down on the ground with Sakura still in his arms. It was all over.
Suddenly, a bright flash surrounded both Sakura and the Gundam boys' worlds. Before they knew what was happening, Heero, Touya, Sakura, Eriol, Yue, Kero, Ruby Moon, Spinel Sun, Duo, Trowa, Quatre, Wufei, and Shaoran found themselves in a world of white. The individuals of the two worlds looked at each other with curiosity.
"I guess this is supposed to be good bye," said Eriol. In another flash of white light, Heero and Shaoran had returned to their own worlds. Galantha and Khasekova, as well as their minions, were no more.
