As Sakura looked out towards the distant horizon, she thought of what had passed…

 

It had been a year since Li had gone away. She feared that he would never come back.

 

 

Lai and Elena, her two daughters stood behind her. Sakura nudged them to sit by her side.

 

 

“Where has daddy gone?” asked a curious Lai.

 

“Oh, he’s…he’s….just out for a little while. Just a little while….” Sakura replied, hiding the tears that filled her eyes at that moment.

 

“…but mommy, daddy’s been gone for a year…!”  Elena quickly replied.

 

With that, Sakura put her head into her hands and cried…

Sakura walked in her cottage, and opened a drawer. She took out a long, sharp sword.

 

     Syaoran’s sword…

 

 

   “Why did you have to go?” she asked quietly.

 

 

  She was interupted when yells could be heard in the front.

 

    “Auntie Tomoyo!” Elena and Lai exclaimed.

 

 

     Sakura walked out, her sword by her side.

 

She leaned against the banister of the stairs, as she saw her friend at the bottom.

 

  Tomoyo slowly walked upstairs, as she passed Sakura and went into her room.

 

          Then, Sakura looked back, as Tomoyo shut the door. Cries could be heard from the ducts.

 

   Sakura quickly walked into her room, and shut the door as well.

   Sakura rested her head on the pillow, as she saw the picture sitting there on her dresser.

 

   The one with Syaoran.

 

 

        Sakura hastily picked up the picture and held it close to her heart.

 

          “Why did you have to go” was all she said, as she slowly closed her eyes, and never woke up again…
