Finally after three years the Shikon no Tama has been pieced back together. Oddly, the completed jewel cannot be purified by Kagome, so it is instead sealed away in a secret location and guarded by Kikyou, who still finds it to be her obligation.
Twenty years pass, and the people of the Sengoku era have undergone a great change. THey now fear and despise youkai more than ever. A young man named Takarou is traveling from village to village, preaching about completely purghing the "monstrous" youkai race from the world.
Suddenly youkai clans are being taken out one by one, even peaceful groups. They are dying in mysterious attacks in the same fashion everywhere. Takarou proudly takes the credit for the sudden destruction, and encourages other humans to take up his cause.
Tired of seeing the injustices being done, the offspring of those who put the Shikon no Tama back together set out to find it again, hoping to halt Takarou's plans and save the youkai race. Shippou, Sanjei, Fusatake, Asayo, and Asoye must set the world back to rights...with or without help from their parents.
