Final Fantasy Tactics

Final Fantasy Tactics Is Not Your Typical Final Fantasy Game. Instead Of An All Out RPG, Tactics Is A Turn-Based Strategy Game. When I First Got This Game, I Fought One Battle, I Had No Idea What I Was Doing, I Just Pressed Buttons And Thought, "Why Aren't Those Characters Doing What I Want? What's Going On Here?" So I Turned The Game Off, Thinking That The Game Sucked. Then I Thought, "Maybe If I Knew What I Was Doing, It Would Be Fun." So I Turned On The System And Realized My Complete And Total Stupidity. When I Played It For The Second Time, And Noticed My Mistake, I Thought-"You're A Moron, Those Were The Computer Players, Of Course I'm Not Going To Control Them." Then Instead Of Pressing Buttons, I Read What My Choices Were, And It All Made Sense Then. Later, It Became One Of My Favorite Playstation Games Of All Time. And What I Was Thinking The First Time I Played It? I Guess I'll Never Know Exactly.

As Usual, Squaresoft Delivers In Terms Of Graphics, Sound, Characters, Plot, Secrets, Gameplay, Replay Value.....Well, Let's Just Call It "Everything".

Let's Start With The Graphics. The Characters May Not Be Very Detailed And Are Super Deformed, But I Actually Think That This Was The Best Way To Go. The Backgrounds, However, Are Quite Detailed In Every Aspect-Typical Of Squaresoft To Only Give Us The Best Quality Graphics, But Who's Complaining?

I Don't Really Need To Go In Depth About The Sound Either, It's Very Good And Fits The Situation You Are In. The Battle Music (Playing In The Background), Makes You Ready For Battle, All In All, Great Sound.

Moving On To The Characters And Plot. I Was Very Glad That Squaresoft Gave Us Yet Another Engrossing Storyline And Excellent Characters, It's Amazing How Many Twists And Turns The Plot Has And How The Characters Change So Much, And How Well It's Pulled Off.

There Are Also Tons Of Secrets In This Game. There Is A Hidden Dungeon, For Starters. This Dungeon Is Huge, And Goes Down Many Floors, You Can Also Find You're Ultimate Weapon Down There. There Is Also A Secret Character- Cloud Strife From Final Fantasy 7! Well, That's Enough On Secrets, There Are More Secrets Than This, But You Can Find Them Out For Yourself.

On To Gameplay And Replay Value- The Gameplay Is Great, The Fighting System Is Well Done, The Class System Is Back (Characters Can Be Knights, White Mages, Black Mages, Summoners, Lancers, Etc.), All Of These Have Their Own Strengths And Weaknesses, And Choosing Correctly Between Them For Battle Would Be Recommended. You Can Also Convince Enemies To Join Your Team. You Can Even Get Chocobos On You Team! Your Characters Can Ride These Chocobos During Battle To Reach Greater Distances Than They Normally Can. With All Of The Secrets And Fun To Be Had In This Game, The Replay Value Is Very High. Expect To Spend A Lot Of Hours On This Game.

  • Cons: Wait A Minute, I Never Said Anything About A Con? Okay, Well They Took Out Some Secret Minigames That Were In The Japanese Version For Some Reason, But That's About It.
