"Weiß Kreuz" is German for "white cross". There's a lot of German scattered throughout this series, actually. For instance, Schwarz ("black") and Schuldich ("guilty") and other strange words that sound damn funny coming out of Japanese mouthes. ^^;; *ahem* sorry..
This is an interesting series (filled with bishies! =D ) and does a good job at exploring the angst and background of the characters as the series progresses, though many argue that it is the boys' good looks that made the series so popular. Some say the animation was poor in certain scenes and still others dislike the story. Personally I enjoy the series, including its characters and storyline, though at times the animation doesn't seem quite up to par. Still, I recommend giving it a chance. There aren't thousands of fans of this series for nothing. ^_^

Anyway, Weiß is an assassin group consisting of four (beautiful) young men. In order from oldest to youngest their names are: Yohji (the smooth playboy), Aya (the cold silent warrior), Ken (the soccer playing boy-next-door type of guy), and Omi (the computer whiz). They work in a flowershop by day to keep up the appearance of four ordinary guys, but at night they become killers that work for an organization called Kritiker. One fights for the truth, another for love, etc. In other words, they all have their reasons, and though every day they struggle with the angst of their pasts and their current occupation, they keep on fighting. As they continue with their missions, they clash with a few other assassination groups, including Schwarz, a group of more bishonen who are constantly getting in the way of Weiß, and Schreint, an all-girl assassin team.
