Anubis is a thinker as much as a warrior, Anubis, known as the Dark Warlord of Cruelty, initially worked for Talpa as one of four Dark Warlords, possessors of the evil Ronin armors. In his Ogre armor, Anubis called upon the unknown power of his armor, which was spiritually linked to him through the virtue of loyalty. Rejected by his fellow Dark Warlords, Anubis secretly questioned Talpa's motives, and, with the help of the Ancient, realized that Talpa was only using him for the power of his armor. Eventually Anubis turned against the Dynasty.
