Frieza Saga
Goku, Gohan, and Krillin are in a hospital recoperating from the battle against Vegeta. Mr. Popo appears on a flying carpet outside the hospital and informs them of the existence of Namek dragonballs, dragonballs of Planet Namek, the home planet of Kami and Piccolo. They makes plans to go to Namek to get these dragonballs to wish the Z Warriors killed in the Vegeta Series back to life. Because Namek is so far away, Mr. Popo mentions Kami's spaceship as the source of transportation. Bulma is chosen to go because she is the only mechanic of the group who can operate a spaceship. Gohan and Krillin, only slightly injured, volunteer to go with Bulma on the trip. Goku is too badly hurt to travel.
Gohan, Krillin, and Bulma head off to Namek. On the way, their ship becomes engulfed by a mysterious invisible ship. They exit to investigate the strange ship and get ambushed by an army of aliens who all aim guns at the them. When asked, the aliens tell them that they think the Z Warriors belong to the group of Frieza. Gohan, Krillin, and Bulma tell that they know nothing about Frieza, but the aliens plan to kill them anyway. Suddenly, a meteor shower hits the ship and everything gets shakey. Gohan and Krillin save the aliens from falling parts of the ship. Bulma races to pilot the ship through the meteor shower. These good intentions prove that Gohan, Krillin, and Bulma are not part of Frieza's crew. The aliens apologize and tell them more about Frieza. It turns out that Frieza is leader of the group of space pirates who conquered and destroyed their home planet. They, the survivors, were forced to flee their planet. This is the reason they now live on a cloaked ship. Bulma, Gohan, and Krillin get on their ship and leave, but not before thanking the aliens.
Next stop, our heroes crash unconsciously onto a strange planet. When they wake up, they are greeted by two Nameks who tell that they have landed on Namek. Our heroes, overjoyed with relief, tell of their quest to find the Namek dragonballs. The Nameks agree to aid our heroes in their search and all seven dragonballs are gathered. Then, the planet fades and morphs. The Nameks also morph into two hideous sluggish aliens. It is revealed that the two aliens are really aliens who crashed and got stranded on the strange planet years ago. The aliens had the abilities to read minds and read their minds while they were unconscious, which explains how they knew about what they were talking about. Then, they used their psychic powers to manifest the planet into a fake Namek. They were in need of a ship to escape the planet, but couldn't just steal the ship while our heroes' were conscious because they had to wait for the stormy weather to clear before being able to fly out into space. When the time comes right, Krillin and Gohan become tricked into getting binded by some octopus like monsters. When the aliens are about to enter Kami's ship, they learn that they cannot get the door open. They find Bulam and threaten her to teach them how to operate the ship. At the same time, Gohan and Krillin break free of the monsters binding them and easily beat the aliens. Our heroes regain possesion of their ship and continue their journey for the real Planet Namek.
Vegeta is in his space capsule retreating back to Frieza's planet. When he lands, he is taken into a recoperation pod and recoperates. Flashbacks are held reflecting on times with Frieza. It is revealed that the Saiyans were loyal servants to Frieza, but Frieza was never satisfied with them. This shows Vegeta's resent to serving Frieza. Vegeta, too, knows of the Namek dragonballs. With the Earth dragonballs gone, Vegeta also makes plans to seek the Namek dragonballs to fulfill his wish for immortality. After becoming immortal, Vegeta plans to kill Frieza, get revenge on Goku, and become the strongest in the universe. Upon recovery, he races to get to Namek. Bulma, Gohan, and Krillin finally arrive to Namek, but discover that they have company. Two goons of Frieza attack our heroes and shoot at their spaceship. Though they are easily beaten, our heroes become stranded on Namek. Vegeta, too, arrives on the planet. The being known as Frieza is also on Namek. Frieza, too, wants the dragonballs to wish for immortality. A dragonball hunt begins.
There are seven villages in Namek, each with an elder possessing a dragonball. Frieza and his henchmen slowly eradicate village by village after robbing them of the dragonballs. Bulma hides and transmits the news of trouble on Namek back to Earth through a portable satellite telephone. In one village, Gohan and Krillin pass by and spy on Frieza to learn his character and witness the brutality of the monster. Frieza's goons kill all defenders and crush all resistance of the Nameks. The elder of the village still refuses to give up his dragonballs to such a monster as Frieza. Frieza then threatens to have two Namek children killed if the elder did not give up the dragonballs at once. Among the children is Dende. Unable to restrain from helping the endangered Nameks, Gohan and Krillin leap in to help. Frieza's left hand man, Dodoria, goes to kill the Namek children but get kicked and punched away by Gohan and Krillin. The heroes carry Dende way to safety and flee from Dodoria. The chase comes dangerously close, but Dodoria loses his victims in an encounter with Vegeta. Vegeta, recovered, is much stronger now and easily beats Dodoria. Dodoria tries to bargain for his life by revealing that the truth of what happened to Planet Vegeta. Vegeta unforgivingly kills Dodoria anyway.
Vegeta's power level has grown so strong that he can sense the dragonballs without the need of any mechanical device like a scouter. He learns that Frieza already has five of the dragonballs and is aware that he is not yet capable of defeating Frieza with his current stregth. Vegeta reasons that if he captures just one of the dragonballs, Frieza will be unable to gather all the dragonballs needed to make a wish. With this plan, Vegeta heads to an unattacked Namek village and treats it with the same brutality as Frieza to steal a dragonball. After eliminating the village, he hides the dragonball underwater. After flying off again, Vegeta encounters Zarbon, Frieza's right hand man. The two battle and fight to a stalemate. Zarbon transforms into his second phrase and defeats Vegeta. Only Vegeta knows where the remaining dragonballs that Frieza needs is, so Zarbon cannot kill him. Vegeta is captured back to Frieza's spaceship and put into a recovery pod.
Frieza learns that his quest for the dragonballs have run into some trouble, so he summons the Ginyu Force, Frieza's elite warriors who have conquered many planets undefeatedly. Vegeta recovers in the recovery cell and destroys it along with any guards. Frieza's lair is deserted but the dragonballs stolen by Frieza are still there. Frieza steals these and flees. Gohan borrows Bulma's dragon radar and discovers that one dragonball is close by and goes to get it. Vegeta encounters Gohan but spares him because he is in a hurry to retrieve the dragonball hid underwater, unaware that Gohan has it.
Dende tells them more about his planet and recommends them to meet the dying Guru, the Namek senior elder responsible for fathering everyone on Namek. Krillin flies to Guru to inform him of what is happening to the planet. Guru senses good intentions in the Earthling, unleashes his hidden powers, and hands him the 1-star dragonball. Krillin heads back to tell Bulma and Gohan the news. Vegeta spots Krillin and follows him. Zarbon spots Vegeta and follows him. Vegeta lands to take Krillin's dragonball, but so does Zarbon. Zarbon and Vegeta fight. Vegeta powers up and kills Zarbon. Krillin is forced to trade his dragonball for the sparing of Bulma and his life. Vegeta laughs and flies off again. Immediately afterwards, Gohan returns with the dragonball that he retrieved.
Back on Earth, Goku, still in the hospital, learns of the trouble on Namek but regrets not being able to do anything. Yajirobe visits Goku and gives him a senzu bean. Goku eats it and immediately recovers. Goku's next stop is to Dr. Briefs. Based on Goku's spacepod, Dr. Briefs was able to design a spaceship capable of traveling to Namek. The ship is ready and Goku sets voyage to Namek. On the ship, Goku trains himself under the gravity machine and trains to 100 times the gravity of Earth. King Kai teleports Goku news that new students have arrived on his planet for special training, Tien, Chauzu, Yamcha, and Piccolo.
Meawhile on Namek the Ginyu force has arrived, they introduce themselves to Frieza and make fools of themselves with their GAY poses, then they take off toward Gohan, Krillin, and Vegeta. Krillin says he won't give Vegeta his dragonball because then all of their efforts would have been in vain and they would not be able to wish back Piccolo and the others, while they are arguing the Ginyu force arrives, they introduce themselves, then Captain Ginyu takes the Dragonballs and heads towards Frieza. Guldo first fights Gohan and Krillin, Guldo is about to beat them with a time freeze technique but Vegeta kills Guldo with a beam through his neck. Then Recoome fights Vegeta and beats him, then Recoome kicks Krllin away and fights Gohan, he is about to kill Gohan when Goku arrives. Goku revives Gohan, Krllin and Vegeta with senzu beans, and knocks out Recoome in one shot. He then beats Burter and Jace runs away to get Captain Ginyu.
Goku and Captain Ginyu fight, after Goku powers up to 180,000, Captain Ginyu does punches himself and does his body change technique, Goku is now in Captain Ginyu's body and since Ginyu puched himself, Goku is hurt, and Ginyu takes off with Jace to fool Gohan, Krillin, and Vegeta. Goku starts to go toward them. Ginyu is fighting Krillin and Gohan, at first he is losing, but then he is starting to win, Ginyu launches an energy ball at Gohan but Goku punches it away. Then Vegeta comes after beating Jace and beats Ginyu, then Ginyu is about to change into Vegeta's body, but Goku gets in the way and he gets his body back, Ginyu tries to take Vegeta's body a second time but Goku throws a frog in the way. Captain Ginyu is now a frog. Vegeta takes Goku to recouperate in Frieza's ship, and gives Gohan and Krillin some armor. Then Vegeta takes a nap and Gohan and Krillin get Dende and the Dragon Ball's and summon the Dragon.
They try to wish everyone back but the Dragon says only one person at a time. So Piccolo tells Gohan to wish him back, then the earth Dragon Balls would come back and they could use those to wish the others back. So they wish Piccolo back, then they wish him to Namek, then Vegeta wakes up and finds them. Saying he'll kill them for not telling him they summoned the Dragon. They tell Vegeta they still have one wish left, so Vegeta tells Dende to tell the Dragon he wants immortality, Dende is about to do so but Guru dies, and the Dragon Balls wear out. Vegeta is about to kill them all when Frieza arrives. Meanwhile Piccolo fused with Nail, and is close to them. Vegeta and Frieza square off for a bit, then Vegeta tells him to change forms, he tells Frieza he knows this because Zarbon told him just before he died. So Frieza trnasforms into his next stage and tells everyone his power level is over 1,000,000, they all freak out, but Piccolo then arrives saying he'll take on Frieza himself. Now they fight and Piccolo is winning until Frieza transforms again, Frieza easily beats Piccolo with a few lasers, but then Gohan jumps in and fires a huge blast of energy at Frieza to keep him down.
Vegeta tells Krillin to blast him so he can get healed by Dende and become stronger. Krillin blasts Vegeta and Vegeta flies down to look for Dende, Dende says he can't heal Vegeta because he doesn't have a good heart and beacause he killed some Nameks. Vegeta then falls dead. Frieza is now powering up to his final stage, Krillin convinces Dende to heal Vegeta saying he is their only hope at the moment, so Dende goes to Vegeta and heals him. Vegeta gets up, now a lot stronger and pushes Dende away. Frieza finishes transforming and Vegeta goes toward him, after a bit Goku gets healed and arrives to hear Vegeta tell him about his father and Goku's father, that they were both killed by Frieza, then Frieza kills Vegeta and Goku and Frieza fight. Its at a standoff until Frieza powers up to 50% of his full power, and manhandles Goku, then Goku forms a Spirit Bomb and blasts is at Frieza, It makes a huge explosion and everyone thinks Frieza is dead. Frieza comes out of the hole and kills Krillin, and badly injures Piccolo. Goku gets mad and powers up to a SUPER SAIYAN. Goku tells Gohan to bring Piccolo back to his ship, and to find Bulma too.
Goku is kicking Frieza's ass so Frieza makes a huge energy ball and launches it at Namek, he tells Goku that when Namek explodes he'll die but Frieza can breath in space. Frieza powers up to 100% of his power and fights Goku. Then Frieza hits Goku into the earth and thinks he beat him, Gohan came back and fights Frieza but is no match, then Goku comes out of the ground and tells Gohan to go back to his ship. King Kai thought up a plan and tells Mr. Popo to gather all the Dragon Balls on earth, he does and they wish that everyone that was killed by Frieza to be brought back to life, So Vegeta and all the Nameks are back to life, includig Guru, so then the Namek Dragon Balls are back and they gets Dende to wish everyone to the earth except Frieza, Goku tells them he wants to stay and fight Frieza, so Dende wishes everyone but Goku and Frieza back to earth, Goku then starts to beat Frieza again, after a bit Goku tells him that Frieza is no match for him anymore so he spares Frieza's life and starts to go back to his ship, but Frieza makes two energy disks and throws them at Goku.
Goku dodges both of them and they end up cutting Frieza in a few pieces, then Goku gives Frieza some energy and takes off, but Frieza blasts a beam at Goku at Goku blasts a beam at Frieza and beats Friezas beam and then goes to Frieza's ship, but it doesn't work, and the planet explodes. Back on earth they gather the Namek Dragon Balls twice, the first time they wish Yaumcha, and Krillin back, they try to wish Goku back but the Dragon says he is still alive and that he'll come back when he wants to. The second time they wish Tien, and Chauzu back, and they wish the Nameks to their own planet. Then Garlic Jr. comes back for a bit but he is put back into the portal by Gohan. Then Frieza comes back with his father, King Cold, a young boy named Trunks kills both of them, and tells them that Goku is coming back in three hours, they wait, and Goku arrives.
