Tallgeese Mobile suit identified. Pilot: Zechs Merquise. Chronicled here are the mobile suits Zechs Merquise piloted. After the Leo that Zechs used was destroyed, he vowed that he would go after the Gundam that he first faced. That Gundam he fought, found to be piloted by a young 15-year old youth named Hiiro Yuy, was strong not only in structure and materials, but also powerfully built as a mighty fighting machine to be an ally for the colonies. Zechs understood that he would need a machine that would equal any Gundam. The Three Tallgeese. One sergeant loyal to Zechs immediately informed him of a distinct mobile suit that remained hidden in a warehouse. The sergeant informed the Lightning Baron that the mobile suit called Tallgeese was a powerful machine, its engine and frame powerful enough to go against the Gundam. With Zechs's undeniable skill and prowess, he and Tallgeese I would become a great force in the war. Even the Gundam pilots were amazed at the power and speed of the Tallgeese, especially since Zechs handled it. Hiiro Yuy found it to himself that the most honorable thing to do was to kill and defeat Tallgeese and its skilled pilot. But before the battle was done, Rilina intervened. It was only after a chaotic battle in space, an attack launched by groups warring in OZ, that almost cost Zechs's life that Tallgeese I would be put up for repairs and given a good overhaul. Treize/Thrace would then pilot Tallgeese II, with its frame now built in blue instead of white. Tallgeese III would be used during the Endless Waltz OAV. Zero Type Wing Gundam At first, Zechs would not tell OZ or the Rockefeller foundation that he was secretly repairing Hiiro Yuy's mobile suit. But after his failed battle with Hiiro in which Rilina intervened, a new chapter began in his life. Having broken off with his long time friend Thrace/Treize and OZ, all which Treize stood for, he now assumed his true identity. (see Rebellion.) Being an ambassador and in the meantime disillusioned with the current situation, he found Hiiro Yuy's Wing Gundam covered in snow in the mountains. Zechs immediately assumed control of the mobile suit in the meantime. The Zero Type System of the Wing Gundam he now piloted tends to affect the pilot's mind with delusions if one is not mentally fit to handle the new system. Zechs is not exempted from being affected by the machine. As he was battling in space, he learns that his Empire of Sango (Sanc) was being attacked. He immediately rushed to Earth in order to save his kingdom but he was blocked by Hiiro Yuy who now manned the powerful Epyon. This would be their third battle. Epyon When Treize/Thrace presented Epyon to Hiiro, he remarked that this would be the ultimate Gundam. This proved true when Hiiro used it to battle against the Rockefeller mobile suits that wished to invade the Empire of Sango (Sanc). During this time, Zechs appeared from space to save Sango (Sanc), but he would fail to do so and instead face Hiiro and his Epyon. Hiiro and Zechs would not kill each other as they promised they would. Zechs, after pushing Epyon to the sea, met with Hiiro and talked briefly about the situation. That is then that Hiiro offered Epyon to Zechs and take his Zero Type Wing. Because Treize/Thrace wanted a good battle in space and his respect for war, Epyon was built on a grand scale. Impressive speed, frame, engine and grand equipment. And Zechs was one of the ultimate mobile suit fighters. With Epyon, he was confident enough to lead a war against the Earth nation, now controlled by Treize/Thrace. But in the final war, he would use Epyon to fight against the Zero Type Wing, and this would be the final battle between him and Hiiro in the series.
