Amberlin

As told by Qin

You stumble over to the only inhabitant of this realm that you can see, a giant Tiger sitting on a rock. Approaching cautiously you ask the burning question that's been plaguing you.

'You've heard about a person called Amberlin and a place called Amberlin, eh? Don't understand, do you? Well....'

He sighs...settles to tell a story.

'In the beginning was the Cataclysm. All was destroyed and sent drifting into the void. Worlds shattered and their inhabitants were sent shooting in all directions. The destruction produced great amounts of energy. This energy was placed under many strange forces. After an unknown time the energy began to think and feel. After another unknown amount of time it noticed the universes around it. This energy, is Amberlin, as it came to be known. This is the being I spoke of.'

The Tiger stretches and resettles his wings.

The great Tiger stretches one wing to its fullest extension, looks at it thoughtfully, and then licks at it for a moment. Then he looks up to make sure you're listening.

'Looking all about, Amberlin noticed the remains of the worlds that once were. For the longest time Amberlin saw nothing else. Then a small, infintesimal (very small) speck of brightness caught Amberlin's attention. Reaching out with hands that did not exist a moment before, Amberlin caught up the speck and brought it near eyes (three) that just came to be. Inspecting the speck, Amberlin was surprised to hear a tiny voice call out. This voice was scared, as any sensible being, even one drifting in the void, would be. Amberlin didn't mean to scare the speck, and so spoke to it comfortingly. To Amberlin's surprise, the speck said it was an inhabitant of one of the destroyed worlds that Amberlin had just been studying. Amberlin was intrigued. The speck and Amberlin spoke at length and soon came to be friends, so much so that the speck told Amberlin what it really wished for. What was it the speck wanted, you ask....'

Qin smiles.

Splaying his claws and running them through the dirt, he continues.

'The speck wanted its world back. It wanted things the way they had been. Amberlin could not do this, of course, but perhaps there was something else that could be done. Thinking hard and long, Amberlin gathered a bit of the massive energies that were a part of Amberlin and crushed them together, shaping them into...a place of trees and water. Of green growth and sun shine. Amberlin made a world for the speck and gently placed it there. The speck was happy, for a time. Then it asked Amberlin if others of its kind were nearby. Amberlin sought, and found one or two and placed them on the new world with the first speck. {'This is good'} thought Amberlin. Having settled one, Amberlin began to notice more and more bright, shining specks adrift in the void. After a moments hesitation, Amberlin sought out more specks, making them new worlds to live in and trying to put similar specks with them. This, these worlds that Amberlin created, is Amberlin, the place.'

The Tiger again stretches his wings, stetches them until each individual feather can be seen.

'You see, since the worlds were created out of the energies that make up Amberlin, they are also referred to as Amberlin. They are, after all, a part of Amberlin (the being), just as the cells of your body are a part of you.'

'Or my fur is a part of me' he pauses, looking up, and a bit side ways at you. 'Do you like crickets? Crunchy aren't they?' He smiles as he pounces on something small and quickly pops it into his mouth with lots of crunching heard.
