1st Day at Dawn Sisters Weyr:
The cold of between....
How to describe it....
Think of the deepest night of winter, when the snow is so cold it creaks.
Think of ice as forms on your breath and steals into your lungs.
Think of all these things and then multiply them a hundred fold.
Then add in the dark.
And then add loss of all awareness of your body.
'kay. Now you'd have at least a small understanding of how between feels.
I would have been terrified, was terrified, if it had lasted longer.
Is that a bad quality for a dragon rider?

3rd Day at Dawn Sisters Weyr:
Spent better part of the day listening to the weyrling master tell us about the proper care of hatchlings. I don't think I ever knew how much work taking care of a dragon was. I bet Erek wouldn't think I had it so cushy if he heard half of what needs to be done.
I think I miss him.
Maybe I just need to eat something.

4th Day at Dawn Sisters Weyr:
The Weyr is HUGE. We spent most of the morning touring the Weyr and we still haven't covered half of things we need to know the location of. There's the bathing pools for dragons and seperate ones for those that don't have them in their weyrs. The dining cavern, the laundry, the storage caves, and so many more that I got horribly lost.
I never had that problem at home. I know every hill, valley, and cave for as far as I can walk for three days in every direction from our hold. There aren't that many places INSIDE our hold that I don't know from top to bottom, either.
I'm going to try and make sure I know the same about Dawn Sisters Weyr. I can't stand being lost.
It's just TOO embarrasing.
I'd like to get to know everybody too. It seems there are a lot of important people here. There's the Weyr Leaders, the Wing Leaders, the Weyrling Master, the Healer, and hands more.

7th Day at Dawn Sisters Weyr:
We got to visit the eggs today.
Hooie. The sand was hot enough to scorch THREAD!
It was rather funny watching everybody skitter across the sand. Well, then I had to go across, and that wasn't so grand. Ended up running like my feet were on fire. Certainly felt like it.
But the eggs. Oh...
Once the Queen let us near them...
It was beyond belief! Laying my hands on that creamy splotched surface. I completely forgot about how hot the sand was and nealed down. I put my face to the shell and listened really hard.
They laughed at me, but I don't care. It was the best experience I've had. My egg had to be special with that strange mark like the leaf from a bread-nut tree. Well it was special to me. Being the first dragon egg I've ever seen and with that mark on it. I felt so a peace with my head pressed close to it. Like I do in the forest when the sun's just coming up and everything is coming alive.
I hope we get to visit the eggs again soon. I'd like to check up on that one with the mark on it.

8th Day at Dawn Sisters Weyr:
We got to go outside the Weyr today. Thread wasn't due and I guess the adults were just tired of having running around underfoot. We went to a patch of trees and picked red berries and some rasp-bers. Those rasp-ber bushes were viscious, scratching like a werrie and our hands all covered with red stains. It was worth it though, 'cause we got hot bubbly pies with third meal. Mmm.
'Course, it took a lot of numb weed to let me sleep. Oh, well.
