Allen is one of the Knights Caeli; noble warriors of Asturia. Van and Hitomi travel with him on his ship, the Crusade, and he often helps to fight off Zaibach. Allen has no family left, and had an affair with Marlene Aston before she died. He is aware of Millerna's feelings for him, but she only reminds him of Marlene.
Serena (Celena) Schezar
Allen's younger sister who mysteriously disappeared when she was only 5. She reappears towards the end of the series.
Leon Schezar
Allen's father. He does a lot of traveling and searches for the lost city of Atlantis. He falls in love with Hitomi's grandmother, Yuri (she is 15 at the time).
Encia Schezar
Allen's mother who died after Celena disappeared.
Millerna Sara Aston
Millerna is the youngest of King Aston's daughters and is in love with Allen. She knows she is engaged to Dryden, but has dreams of being with Allen and becoming a doctor.
Eries Aria Aston
The middle child. She is serious and tries to advise Millerna on what is best for her, but is only ignored. She is secretly in love with Allen.
Grava Efud Aston
The king of Asturia.
Therese Aston
The late queen of Asturia.
Dryden Fassa
Dryden is Meiden's merchant son. He does a lot of traveling, but is willing to settle down and marry Millerna. He is fascinated with the research of Atlantis and helps lead Van there.

One of King Aston's advisers.
The Crusade Crew
Allen's faithful and spirited crew members are: Gaddes, Pyle, Reeden, Kio, and Ort, to name a few.
Mole Man
A seemingly low-life old man that wanders as he pleases. He joins Allen's crew at one point, and despite being creepy, actually comes in handy.
The Ratman
A nervous adviser of Dryden.
