Kiki, a 13 year old witch, is the main character of this story. She is cheerful, polite, and friendly. Her best friend is her black cat Jiji. She leaves home to find a city to live in and train as a witch. Her only skill is flying and she finds a beautiful town next to the ocean. She finds a place to stay and works as a delivery girl. She learns many of lifes lessons while away from home.
Jiji
Jiji is Kiki's black cat. He is talkative and funny. He doesn't seem to like flying very well. He often encourages Kiki and tries to comfort her when she's sad. In the new town he meets a pretty kitty named Lily. They become good friends and start a family.
Kiki's Mom
Kiki's mom is a witch. She is the president which in their home town and is very kind and well liked. She showed Kiki how to fly when she was very young and taught her not to be afraid. She doesn't want to see Kiki leave home, but she knows she has to let her go.
Kiki's Dad
Kiki's dad isn't a witch. He met Kiki's mom when she first arrived in his town as a 13 year old witch in training. He cares for Kiki very much and has trouble letting his little girl go off on her own.
Osono & Her Husband
Osono runs a bakery in the town Kiki travels to. When she meets Kiki she offers her a place to stay as long as she helps in the bakery. Osono is pregnant, but she's still a hard worker. She is very kind to Kiki and helps her start up her delivery service. She realizes that Tombo likes Kiki and encourages her to get to know him.
Osono's husband is a big man who also works in the bakery, mostly just baking the bread. He is quiet and shy, but very sweet.
Ursula
Ursula is a painter who lives in a cabin in the forest. She meets Kiki when Kiki comes looking for an item that she lost. She later comes to visit Kiki and brings her back to the cabin so she can paint a portrait of her. She is very cool and fun for Kiki to be around. She helps Kiki get through a tough time when she thinks she's losing her powers.
Tombo
Tombo meets Kiki when she first arrives in town. He imediatly takes a liking to her and is fascinated at how she can fly. Even though Kiki is rude to him at first he doesn't give up and invites her to a party. Soon he gets to know her better and they become friends.
Madame
This old woman is one of Kiki's customers. She likes how Kiki is so polite and is very kind to her. She even calls her back at one time to give her a cake.
Bertha
Bertha lives with the madame. She is a little funny, she pretends to fly on Kiki's broom and enjoys watching disasters on tv.
