Wakaba is Utena's good friend and admirer. She often calls Utena her "love" and spends a lot of time with her. Wakaba has a crush on Saionji, but Saionji doesn't even know or care. Wakaba is hurt when Utena moves in with Anthy and spends all her time with her, but still remains her friend. She is also in 8th grade.
Mitsuru Tsuwabuki
Mitsuru is in 4th grade and acts as Nanami's servant. When he was younger he saw Touga save Nanami's life and decided that he wanted to be strong and protect Nanami too. He doesn't complain when Nanami bosses him around and he cares for her greatly.
Shiori Takatsuki
Shiori was Juri's childhood friend. She admired Juri a lot and tried to be like her. She once stole a boy from Juri by telling him that Juri loved another, then Shiori dated him herself. Shiori didn't know that Juri really loved her, and she eventually finds out when she comes back to Ohtori Academy. Shiori is mean and manipulative, and enjoys trying to take away anything Juri seems to care for. She is in the 10th grade.
Kozue Kaoru
Kozue is Miki's twin sister; which also makes her in 7th grade. Kozue and Miki were close as children, but due to an unfortunate music recital disaster, they have grown apart and somewhat resent each other. Kozue dates a lot of boys and is possessive of Miki. Kozue does as she pleases, but gets angry when Miki spends time with Anthy or anyone else for that matter.
Shadow Play Girls: A, B, and C
These three girls are in the school drama club and appear in pretty much every episode and often explain the plot in the episode using symbolism. A-ko has short hair tied with a bow, B-ko has her hair in funny pigtails, and C-ko wears her hair in a pony tail.

He is the prince that gave Utena her ring when she was young.
Souji Mikage
Mikage is in 12th grade at Ohtori Academy and oddly enough looks similar to Utena. He lives in a building called Nemuro Memorial Hall along with many other students. He teaches courses there and is a genius; students call him 'professor'. He is very serious and dedicated to his work. Mikage started the Black Rose duels and uses people with bitter feelings as his duelists. Mikage is burdened by his memories and his lost love, Tokiko.
Mamiya Chida
Mamiya lives in Nemuro Memorial Hall with Mikage. They are very close, sometimes to the point of seeming as a couple. Mamiya grows black roses and picks them when a new black rose duelist is recruited. He is very mysterious and never ventures outside. He looks like the male form of the Anthy, the Rose Bride, and Mikage even calls him "rose bride". Mamiya once suffered from a serious illness that kept him indoors and was under the care of his older sister Tokiko.
