Rumors, Assumptions, and Myths brought to Light
Actually these questions aren't frequently asked, most of them have only been asked once, if that often, but I deemed them worthy of being offically responed too.
Question: Isn't Animezing just you and a group of your friends watching anime?
Answer: No, actually quite the opposite, most of the people that attend animezing come as total strangers to me and each other, a few attend with a friend, but for the most part they are strangers, they become very firm friends from attending Animezing meetings.
The Club is open to the general public, we advertise by flyers and word of mouth.
Question: Why don't you take turns holding meetings at the houses of the members.
Answer: The club is open to the public we try to meet at neutral locations; Community Centers, Hotels, etc.
If the meetings were held at an individuals home a lot of people would not feel comfortable comming and it woudl be almost impossiable to get new memebers.
Also, no one wants to be responsiable for the damages, messes, and in some cases items going missing, that can be accompanied by larger groups, even more so when their are strangers in the group that no one can vouch for.
Lastly, very few of our members could get parental permission to have between 10 - 30 people in their home, and if they can, even less would have the space to accomidate that many people.
Myth: Anime is all just cartoon Porn.
Fact: Although their is a fair amount of Nudity in anime (which is always "cartoon") it is not precieved as pornographic, Just as the different censuring of the Japanese culture.
Assumption: Animezing is My group and only created to gather me Admirers.
Reality: I act as the head only because I was one of the original group that came up with the idea, I have the anime and I do what has to be done, the good and the bad. I have to do it if it makes me popular or unpopular with any given party. I will quietly give up the possition if the majority of the club votes me out.
