The soldiers faught hard that day,
Although time stretched on around them,
Molten, everlasting with their valiant deaths,
And it was more then a single sunlit passing.
The green pastured lands were bright with blood
At sunset, the land matching sky for fury.
They all lay dead, save two valiant men,
Which is where this story might have ended,
Had not the one who stayed behind
Laid down his life to save them all,
And wakened intricate and silken sleeping Destiny,
Who lay, unmolest’d, on her guilded, sighing throne.
