INVADER

Some time in the middle of the next day, Maron awakened, with a strange notion in mind. Sitting up, he got out of bed. He stood still for a moment. His friends were in town, looking around for the Savior’s Scroll, as if it really existed. Marron walked out of his room, and into the hall. The room across the hall was that of the Misu sisters, he knew. How he knew, he wasn’t quite sure, but he knew. He quietly forced the lock and entered the room. He knew right where to go.
Tira had before mentioned the journal she kept. She had before mentioned tha he always left in the dresser table of whatever inn they were staying at. Not that she knew he new of it, but that was of no consequence.
He settled back onto the bed to read...
It seems like none of us like each other very much. This entry was dated several months ago. On one hand you have me and Chocolate. Granted, I love my sister. I kind of have to. But we’re both gunning for Carrot, and she really drives me insane with all her stunts. I mean, if she calmed down, I might actually have a chance with Carrot. But, as it is, that’ll NEVER happen. And Carrot can’t stand Chocolate, and, unfortunately, he doesn’t really appreciate me either. And then there’s the matter of Carrot and Marron. Or, rather, Marron and Carrot. Or, actually, both of those are separate matters. I mean, Carrot doesn’t hate his brother, but he’s always so embarassed by him, and he just thinks Marron is just a big, tall, skinny, freakish, over-protective, “closet pervert.” I mean, what on earth is that all about? I don’t think Marron could possibly have a dirty thught in his head. And speaking of Marron, why does he always act so coldly towards Carrot? He just lets him be beaten up. He never prevents a beating of Carrot, he just swoops in later and avenges him. It seems sort of twisted. Almost like Marron enjoys it - seeing Carrot get hurt, and then gets all guilty over letting it happen, and goes off and beats up the bad guy. But I don’t really think that’s it. Marron isn’t a sadist, nor is he a masochist. I wonder is Marron even has emotions one way or another. He’s just like this... transient, androgynous good guy here to help us out. It’s just really, really confusing. Oh, and the matter of Gateau. He’s pretty darn obsessed about beauty, so he’s not very much inclined towards Carrot - why is it that no one thinks Carrot is cute! - nor is he inclined towards Chocie. His advances on me kinda freak me out, I mean what the hell? And then him and Marron... I don’t know, but I would only be half surprised if I saw him and Marron walking out of the bushes together... Well, actually, I would be surprised, because I don’t think Marron thinks about that sort of thing, but you never know... If he does, I jus hope that he isn’t thinking about Gateau.
In other news, I am majorly PMS-ing, so I felt like whipping Carrot every time he turned his damn head...

The other Sorcerer Hunters were out on the town again, having finished their dinner. Although, thinkig of it that was was only more torturous for Carrot. He just wished he really could be out on the town. But there wasn’t really much fo a social scene in Restor. Come to think of it, there really wasn’t much of a social scene anywhere on the Spooner Continent.
Carrot sighed. He wished some pretty girls would come hopping along - bouncy bosoms and all - but it seemed like the only bosoms around were the saggy ones of the shopkeepers’ wives. Carrot shuddered. Gross.
The Sorcerer Hunters were making their way through the cobbled streets towards the church. Big Momma had expressed the idea that maybe the priests of restor would know something of the Savior’s Scroll.
“You know,” said Tira, “I’m not really sure it’s right of us to go around without Marron.”
“Well, we don’t really know where he is,” pointed out Chocolate.
“Still...” Gateau said in agreement with Tira.
“Hey, guys, I don’t think that duck sat too well with me,” Carrot said. “I think I’m gonna head over to the apothecary and see if they have any remedies...” Carrot sauntered off in the direction of an imposing stone building with a painted sign of a mortar and pestle hanging above the doorway.
Tira and Chocolate quietly stared after Carrot. Then Tira saw what Carrot was thinking of when he said ‘remedies’... Inside the buidling, behind the counter, were several young girls with blue hair. Chocolate caught the drift, and started to run after ‘Darling.’ Gateau grabbed her around the waist before she could get very far.
“Let him do what he wants, Chocolate,” Gateau said, before he set her down, “he’s not in any immediate danger.”
“Besides hitting on a couple of blue-haired bitches!” Chocolate protested, and ran again.
“Besides an untimely taste of your garotte, you mean, Sis,” Tira said as Gateau grabbed Chocolate and pulled her back again.
“Stay put,” Gateau said gruffly. “We can’t have any more of you running off.”
Before she followed Gateau, dragging Chocolate along with him, Tira glanced back at the shop window. Carrot was there, flirting with the shopgirls. Two of them were faced towards the inside of the store, maybe laughing. The third was looking sadly out onto the street. Tira turned away with a sigh, and went after her friends.

Posessed of a strange notion, Marron got up from underneath the tree, and headed in towards Restor.
