About the CharactersHere's the basic info on most of the characters in OS.

Gene Starwind
Here we have Gene Starwind, the main character of OS in many people's eyes. He's about 20 years old, with reddish-brown hair and scars all over his body from who-knows-what. Like your average 21-year-old dude, he enjoys booze, guns, and chicks. He also has space phobia, which shows throughout the series, due to the fact that when he was 15 or so, he and his dad were in space and something bad happened to the ship...unfortunately there was only 1 escape capsule and poor Gene was the only one who survived. Once and a while you'll see a flashback of these memories.

Melfina
Melfina is a cyrogenically frozen android (no, not like in DBZ!) that Hilda (see below) found in a briefcase. See, this briefcase, supposedly, was of great value to the Kei Pirates (think Ryoko, not Hook) so Hilda didn't really know what Mel was for so she took her along since she figured that if the pirates wanted her, she must be pretty valuable. And she was, of course! Melfina is the navigator of the Outlaw Star spaceship. Oh, and for all the dubbies out there...that's not her swimsuit she's wearing (hint, hint). So Melfina's pretty cool (for an android!!). Besides, she has a kewl name!! Lol, don't mind me...

'Hot Ice' Hilda
Note: Hilda is NOT a space pirate, even though she looks like one. When she first appears in the series, she is disguised as a woman who calls herself 'Rachel Sweet' calling Gene and Jim's odd-job (and I do mean odd) wanting a bodyguard. Gene, being te guy he is, immediately falls for 'Rachel' and assumes the job as her bodyguard. Well, 'Rachel' turns out to be wearing a really really good mask, and after the lil girl in the yin-yang clothes (I hope I'm not confusng you) catches Hilda, she tears off her Rachel mask and makes Gene take her to the place where they find Melfina. Hilda's pretty kewl, she's my 2nd favorite character. ^_^

Aisha Clanclan
Aisha Clanclan is a member of the cat-person race, Ctarl Ctarl (and proud of it!) She's an excellent competitor (here shown in her stolen Firecat costume...she illegally competed in the Strongest Woman in the World contest!). When in heavy battle, or when very angry, she turns into an almost invincible white tiger-like beast. Lol. Anyway, she gets along very well with Jim and Melfina (but especially Jim). At times she can act really immature, but she's a really, really funny character!

Suzuka
'Twilight' Suzuka (or 'Suzu', according to Aisha!)is what we call the perfect assassin. She skillfully kills her victims no later and no earlier than she says. How nice! ^_^* She wears Japanese clothing and always carries her trusty wooden sword with her, which is her weapon of choice. Don't ask me how she can slice people (let alone a bus) up with a wooden daito sword, but that's anime for ya! Lol. She acts very calm, cool, and collected all the time, and when she speaks it's usually important. Usually. ^_^ She absolutely HATES to lose, so when she does, it's not pretty. But that's not very often, is it? Besides, she has a pretty high reputation to keep up with, so it must get hard after awhile!

Fred Luo
Fred Luo sells arms and weapons on Sentinel III. He often (OK, he constantly) loans money (in this show, money is 'wong' not 'dollars'...cool, huh?) to Jim and Gene, and they have about a 1.4 million wong debt. But practically the only reason he lends them is because he has somewhat of a crush on Gene...yes, Fred's gay. You can tell 'cause he always hugs Gene and he "can't wait for Jim to grow up". At first, I didn't really like him...he was sort of annoying...but now I think he's kinda funny after seeing the 'Strongest Woman in the World' episode!!

the MacDougall Brothers The notorious brothers, Harry and Ron MacDougall, and their ship, the El Dorado, are feared throughout the universe. They sell their services to the highest payer and double cross even their own clients. Harry (the younger one with blue hair which I mistook for a girl at first) isn't really Ron's brother; he, like Melfina, is an artificial human. Throughout the series, the MacDougall Bros. try to get their hands on Melfina, as she is very valuable, and all this time we think Harry just wants her because she would be a valuable asset to the ship, it turns out he really is in love with her. ^_^* He seems to have a very high and moody temper, which is probably one of the reasons Mel loathed him so much in the beginning. Harry is in it more than Ron; Ron just seems to stand there, so that's why I'm taling about Harry more. (By the way...have you noticed their names? Harry and Ron? Reminds me of Harry Potter! -_-;)

Jim Hawking Jim Hawking is the other half of Starwind and Hawking Enterprises. His father was a famous and successful computer hacker, and Jim is a complete expert on computers. While bounty hunting, Jim and his little computer-thingy helps Gene beat the bad dude faster. He's 11 years old and 76 pounds. Jim seems to get along well with Aisha, but sometimes he and Gene are at each others' throats...Jim just can't get over how immature and irresponsible Gene can be! Lol. But Starwind and Hawking just wouldn't be as good without the Hawking.

the Kei Pirates OK, I was a little confused about these guys at first, but I'll try my best to explain. The Kei Pirates were the ones chasing after Hilda in the beginning. They're masters of Tao magic, making them excellent fighters in and out of space (They're the ones that Hilda stole a ship, now known as the Outlaw Star, from.). You know that little black thing Gene shoots out of his gun sometimes? That's a castor. They're really really expensive, I guess, but they're also very effective. They contain the same type of magic the pirates use. Anyway, there's not much to say about the pirates, as they're not around for much of the series, so that's it. |
