Matt is far worthy of a shrine, but you may be asking why. Well, it's because he's my fave character on Digimon, both 01 and 02. This blonde haired bishie has a personality, he has angst, he's not a one-dimensional boring character *coughSoracough*.
Sure, he can be agressive and is usually fighting with Tai about someting but that's because he's got a bit of an insecurity problem. He questions his purpose in the Digiworld and why he is the guardian of friendship all while trying to watch TK's every move. By the end of season 01 he's a little less bitter and and whole lot more friendly.
Season 02 he is not in as much as most Matt fans would like, but he is still there. He's the lead singer of a band called The Young Wolves and has his very own stalker (Jun). For some screwed up reason he winds up with Sora thou. (Really, I'm not bitter...) and well, that's as far as I've seen into the second season.
