-Power of the cube-
The Gamecube has a 405MHZ Copperwire CPU and the graphics chip can handle
floating point operations of 13.0GFLOPS, no you didn't read wrong thats
13.0GFLOPS over twice that of the psx2, what this means is that the
Cube is a very powerfull poly-pushing machine (Oh-Yeh!). And the actual
display capability: 6 million to 12 million polygons per second. Oh and
did I forget to mention that the Gamecube comes with a modified DVD drive
that takes DVD's that are a bit smaller than average (Hopefully this means
we get decent storage cases for our games this time....). The Gamecube
will come in a large range of colours and you will be able to plug in the
new Gameboy advance into the controller ports. Also I am not sure if these
last things are included or packaged but you will be able to get 56k modems
and rewritable hardrive thingys - Cool! The Gamecube is also Networkable
so you don't have to share your TV screen with your freinds. What I think
would be REALLY cool, would be if there was a game (say Perfect Dark2)
where you could have 4-players on each TV, Imagine having two teams of
four, with each team being in a seperate room!!!!!!!!!!!
Some Graphical effects that the Gamecube can push around the screen
are:
-Full Screen Sub pixel Anti-alaising
-Alpha blending
-multi-texture mapping/bump/environment mapping
-24-bit Z-buffering
-Realtime texture decompression
-A whole lot more!
