As you can see Wave Race evolved from a fab boat game into a fab
Jet Ski game. These were the first screen-shots released to the public
and they blew everyone away with the transperant water. When Nintendo announced
Wave Race had switched to a Jet Ski game a lot of people thought it was
going to flop with such a huge change soon before it's release date. How
wrong they were.
Conclusion
It's probably a change for the better because using Jet Ski's meant
that you could do those wild stunts that many people bought the game for
(well I did). Whilst Jet Boats are highly cool - stunts are even better.
Some cool things that were going to be done with the boats though, such
as landing on another boat, pushing it deeper into the water and slowing
it down.

Boats are cool!....
...Especially when...
They can fold their hydra-foils in and out. Having them out makes the
boat faster but also makes it harder to fit through gaps.
