Violence in games-

As this is quite a controversial subject at the
moment, I decided to expose you to my views upon the subject!
Over the last few years Video Games have become
nearer and nearer to realistic graphics, which also means more realistic
violence! Is the more realistic violence a means at corrupting the
innocent gamers brain and churning out serial killers? I think that whilst
games may be quite violent, the people making these accusations really
need to get things in perspective! I mean is a game of Perfect dark really
more violent than watching TV? I think not! The news is one of the
most violent programmes I have seen. Most of the time the news actually
shows you how the criminals actually committed the crimes and what mistakes
they made! Once there was even a news documentary about breaking into cars
in under 20 seconds! Now that is insane! Sure it was blurred out a bit,
but anyone that really payed it any attention could easily get the gist
of it.
Apparently gun games down at the arcade also teach
people to use guns! Quicken the reflexes maybe, but seriously, the weighting
is different and holding a plastic gun to a screen and shooting at point
blank range, is this the way to learn how to use a gun? If someone wants
to learn how to use a gun would they go down to the local arcade? I think
not, they would go to a rifle range, go hunting or join scouts! I think
that some people just don't know what to blame for the mess that todays
society is sometimes in. If people would be influenced by games in such
a way, they obviously already have mental problems and wouldn't be safe
anyway. Games are just an easy scapegoat for people to blame their problems
on - Leave us alone!
