Mario Tennis Review (Mini's)
A pleasant surprise, Mario Tennis surpassed all my expectations. With
an incredible frame rate, this game runs very smoothly. The graphics are
cutesy, but this doesn’t detract from the overall gameplay. There isn’t
much in the ways of sound (it’s tennis) but when a player is about to hit
the ball they grunt with effort as they release the power of their charged
racquet. Music is fantastic with some old but hyped up tunes making a re-appearance
in the hidden courts. Mario Tennis will keep you going for weeks and weeks
trying to get every character to complete: Tournaments, Ring Shot; where
you try to hit the ball through gold rings, Piranha Challenge; where you
try to return ball shot forth from the mouths of Piranha Plants, and Bowser
Challenge; a game where the court tilts and there are numerous Mario Kart-usque
power-ups. Great stuff from Camelot!
