To catch and train. Pokemon are based on one
or two types of life including:
Water
Fire
Grass
Earth (I am your powers combined,I
am Captain Planet)
Bug
Ghost
And many many more likkle cuddly
critters to battle
As you probably would have guessed differant
types are effective against each other, for example
Water is"super effective"against Fire,so basically
what you have is a complex game what you have is a complex game of rock
scissors and paper. Pokemon brings new meanings to the term "gameplay"
with at least 150 Differant "Pocket Monsters" |

What does this game actually involve????
You are a Pokemon trainer who has just got his license and big dreams
of making it all the way to the top (Pokemon Leage) but first you have
to beat 8 Gym leaders (just as well. There arnt any more) and in turn catch
and train Pokemon to beat them with.To catch a pokemon first you have to
beat
some of the energy out of it untill its almost collapsed and then chuck
a Pokeball at it but beware,if you havn't taken enough energy off of the
Pokemon it can still escape the Pokeball! Training the Pokemon is quite
simple, find something to fight and then win. Points from winning go to
all Pokemon that havn't fainted and if this isn't enough and its a trainer
that you beat you even get rewarded $$$!A good chunk of the game is 3/4-top
on view real time exploration, just like in Zelda4 and the graphics look
remarkably like Zelda's (Zelda4 that is).The fighting,though is completly
turn-based but whilst I thought I wouldnt like this I found it growing
on me in no time. |
What is the actual aim of the game though????GET TO THE POKEMON LEAGUE
and also try and "CATCH EM ALL!"To get entrace to the Pokemon League, though
you will need to beat 8 differant gyms in 8 differant cities.Of course
this isn't just a walk in the park though, since the gyms get harder, the
further into the game you get. There also heaps of puzzles to solve and
mazes to get lost in along the way to keep you occupied.Shopping is another
way to keep yourself happy in this game, one city has a Pokemon Superstore,a
multi leveled store selling all kinds of goods for trainers(even Super
Nintendo's but despite my efforts I couldn't buy one,DOH!!) |

Yet another great thing in this game is the music that lives up to
true Nintendo standard music and will be stuck in your head for the rest
of the day! Sound effects are good but mainly just do their job and arn't
really too noticable. |
Not all of the Pokemon are availible in either Red or Blue so you will
have to trade with a friend who has the other version or somehow get access
to it. |
