-Site History-
NS wasn't allways NS, it used to be CC!!! Egad!
Late 1999
Welcome to the history section where you can find out how this great
site started. When I started this site it had nothing to do at all with
anime, it was a toatal nintendo site (The original name was "Wario's Castle")
that had reviews and reasons why the N64 was better than the psux (I mean
psx). I had a simple layout with no sidebar. I focused on my content until
I had quite a bit. I had one problem though, I had all this great stuff
but no-one came here to see it (It might be a good idea to grab some tissues).
I decided that I needed to do some advertising. This is where pokemon came
in, since it was soooo popular I decided I could put some stuff about pokemon
on my page and more people would come to see it. I had never played Pokemon
before and thought it was probably just some wierd Jap fad. After playing
it on an emulator for a couple of hours I decided it was definatly worth
buying the real thing and was addicted to this brilliant Nintendo game
in no time.
Beggining of 2000
After a lot of effort I was getting around 12 hits a day, which
I thought was the beggining of something special. I tryed to join some
networks and get some affiliates but whilst I was accepted by some sites
a lot of others said they wouldn't be interested until I got a decent layout.
I designed my first "real" layout when I got my own computer in my room
(A real beast). This stayed up for a while but I found the layout didn't
work in Netscape and that the layout was really bad in lower resolutions
since I desgined it in 1280x1024. I redisgned my layout to look better
in lower resolutions and it was actually quite good looking but I hadn't
heard of SSI and since a non-SSI neede a LOT of work I decided it was time
for a change.
September 4th 2000
I am now getting an avereage of around 30 hits per day and I have heaps
more content and my new SSI layout was ready to go, all I had to do now
was to upload it and convert the rest of my pages to it. The new layout
is called Version 4.5 "Artic Dragon" because the main colours are white
and blue and my header ind intro featured a picture of two dragons that
I made with scraper board, which is kinda like carving.
September 8th 2000
The new layout is opened to the public.
At the beggining of October, I launch another improvement to the layout!
Instead of having a couple of hundred links on my right table, I devide
my page into sections and have a button link to each section!
October 22nd
Woohoo! 10,000 hits! Thanx to everyone that has visited my page
8)
Oh and whilst I still have lots of Pokemon stuff, the page seems to
be heading back into the Nintendo area! Probably inspired by Perfect dark
and the Gamecube!
December 2000
I have re-opened the page, renamed it, refined and improved it! Now
the page is known as Nintendo Spirit and has far simpler, easier to navigate
and heaps faster to load! Groovy!
