Welcome to CLASSIC FLASH!
This is where we explore the original CUTEY HONEY
series from the 1970's. Honey started out as a manga
from DEVILMAN creator Go Nagai and eventually became
the star of her own weekly animated television series.
After 25 episodes, the series ended. Then in 1990, Go Nagai continued the manga in a CUTEY HONEY 90. Later on, he followed it up with an 8 episode OVA sequal to the television anime called NEW CUTEY HONEY. There was also the CUTEY HONEY FLASH series which was a remake of the original show. The story is about an ordinary
high school girl named Honey Kisaragi. It turns out that Honey is really an android created by Dr.
Kisaragi who programmed her to believe that she was
really his human daughter, the original of which had
apparently died when she was a small girl. Dr.
Kisaragi was the target of a vicious criminal gang
called the Panther Claw lead by Sister Jill. The
Panther Claw were made up of inhuman monsters serving
the will of their demonic goddess Panther Zora. They
wanted the doctor's atmospheric alterator which had
the ability to change the form of matter. Dr. Kisaragi had placed this unit within Honey's body so that she
could alter her appearance and create any materials she needed simply by saying "Honey Flash". Honey
learned of all this after her father was murdered by
the Panther Claw and used her new powers to transform
into Cutey Honey, a heroine with super-strength and a
talent for morphing. She carried this fight against the
Panther Claw all the way up to Sister Jill and even
beyond that with Panther Zora herself. Honey's story
has endured for three decades and probably isn't
finished yet. We'll look into the how the phenomenon
all started and the sagas that grew from it. Thanx for
looking us up! |
