  | "A Teacher's Lesson" Rini and Pegasus are visiting in dreamland. Like a jealous wife, Rini asks why Pegasus doesn't visit her or talk to her anymore. She wants to know who he is and where he came from. Pegasus wants to know why and Rini says she wants to be his friend. Pegasus says he can't and Rini, like a doormat, says "I know" and adds that she wishes he would trust her. Back at the circus, we learn from the circus that Pegasus doesn't amount to anything and has to live in a beautiful dreamer. The power of Pegasus is the key to ruling the world, ergo, the Dead Moon Circus needs Pegasus to rule the world. Tiger-Eye asks that Amazon Trio's dumb question for this episode: "What if the person with Pegasus in her dream realized how powerful Pegasus was and decides to use his power to rule the world?" Duh, as if! What beautiful dream would want to rule the world? You're bugging if you think their dream could survive--Pegasus would totally book it! Yeah, and Zirconia knows that Pegasus doesn't trust beautiful dreamers farther than he can throw them. Tiger-Eye goes and gets Heavy Hanibiko, who's been eavesdropping. She's going on their next mission to enter Pegasus and corrupt his host.(Is it Heavy or Hebi? I don't think even Tiger-Eye knows...) In art class, Rini is wearing a beret and mustache for landscape painting inspiration. Her friends--whose names seem to change every time they appear--admire her work. Well, they boy says it isn't too bad, causing a struggle between him and the girl. Miss Marino, aka Master Bitch, questions Rini's outfit. The mustache offends her more than anything. She does admit that Rini's painting is very good, but she can't give it a good grade. Miss Marino explains to us that painting a landscape has nothing to do with creativity so Rini needs to remove the Pegasus she put in. This is exactly why no one wants Miss Marino to be their art teacher... Consensus among Rini's friend is that Miss Marino is mean and hates kids. Miss Marino sighs and sits down on a bench...where she's photographed by Zircon. This picture gets pulled out of the pile and the Amazon Trio contemplates it. Fish-Eye says that she's a crap target and Tiger-Eye agrees that she's too old. He passes the picture to Hawk-Eye, whose turn it is. Miss Marino is such a sad case that she does nothing for Hawk-Eye--who'll jump on almost anything that Tiger-Eye says is too old. Tiger-Eye then asks Fish-Eye when he plans to get off his lazy butt. Fish-Eye says s/he's not interested in women. Tiger-Eye sidles over and wonders if he's more Fish-Eye's type... Fish-Eye screams that s/he has no interest in Tiger-Eye...in a slightly lady/drag queen doth protest too much sort of way. Tiger-Eye heads off, wishing he could just hunt pumpkins or Pegasus, but then grins evilly when he realizes that if he gets Pegasus, he'll get all the credit. Later, Rini and Serena are playing Japan's favorite game: "Super Terrific Third Telephone Pole Rock Paper Scissors Makes One Person Carry All the Groceries Game!" Serena bumps into Miss Marino...and loses the groceries. After finding out that Marino's Rini's art teacher, Serena begins subservient hand wringing and parental sucking up. Miss Marino says that Rini does well at school and makes friends with everyone. Well, Miss Marino, maybe you'd be more like Rini if you weren't a burned out old sour puss. Which is why Rini hasn't really made friends with everyone... Miss Marino continues on her way, lamenting in an inner monologue that teachers never get a day off.(hasn't this woman noticed these things called "weekends" and "summer vacations"?) On her way, she encounters a magnifying glass wielding fortune teller who can sense her unhappiness. Is that a massive ruby ring he's wearing? That's right, kids, it's Tiger-Eye! He offers Miss Marino a chance to find out what really turns her on(yes, kids, that's what the dub says. So, why can't we have openly gay characters again?) Which is an offer even Miss Marino can't resist. We learn that Miss Marino always wanted to be a teacher, but now that she is one, well, she just can't stand those damn kids! She's one of the more sympathetic victims of the day...Tiger-Eye, meanwhile, is bored out of his mind. And taking longer than usual to tell her to surrender her dreams. He takes her hands, moves in, and tells her he's going to take her away from this miserable life. And when she bolts, hits her with a stick. She collapses, quick change, and screams. Elsewhere, Darien pulls up and offers Serena and Rini a ride in his snazzy American car. Before they can get in, they hear Miss Marino's screams. It's amazing that in a crowded street, the Sailor Scouts are the only ones who take any notice. Tokyo has obviously gotten a little too used to being the center of all evil activity... So, anyway, one, two, three, and Tiger-Eye gets a rare chance for a dream peek before the pumpkins arrive. And those dreams are so beautiful! Oh yeah! Shame there's no Pegasus though. And glittery transformation sequence, speech about how teachers care for their students--well, most teachers. An over excited Tiger-Eye sends out the whip and gets his throwing knives ready when Tuxedo Mask appears and holds him at bay with his cane and shames him by yelling at him for attacking women all the time. Mini-Moon calls Pegasus, which is just what Tiger-Eye wants. And it's time for dear lemure Hebi/Heavy Hanibiko...who leaps into Pegasus. Tiger-Eye runs like hell and Pegasus turns to stone. Mini-Moon loses her pupils and stops moving. She then finds herself in a place of swirly black clouds. Hanibiko becomes the first to learn that Pegasus lives in Rini's dream and suggests that with a magic bridle, Rini can make Pegasus do whatever she wants. Fortunately, Rini says that's not how you make friends. The ability to control her own world isn't really much of an incentive for a girl who's going to inherit the new Silver Millenium some day, so Hanibiko points out that making friends is hard and takes effort. Rini tells her to get the hell out. Pegasus is freed, Moon Gorgeous Meditation, so long Shadow Wench, Tuxedo Mask goes to get the car. As usual, the target becomes reinspired. Rini informs Miss Marino that Sailor Moon drove the bad man away. Miss Marino turns down a ride and asks why Rini didn't take the Pegasus out. Rini says she doesn't care about the grade and wanted to paint what she felt. Miss Marino admits that she liked the picture too. You can't beat these visits from Pegasus! Speaking of Pegasus, he gives Rini a present for not betraying him: a frabrege egg on a pedestal that lets them talk in Rini's bedroom. Because he wants to be Rini's friend...he wants to be around her. Rini is so delighted that she takes her top off. And we have to see it.(Drag queens bad, naked children good. Cloverway says!) Pegasus averts his eyes until Rini is dressed again. He still won't tell her his name, but at least they can become friends little by little. In conclusion, Pegasus doesn't trust anyone and Rini is destined to put up with a lot of crap in her future relationships. |
