Princess Psyche is a beautiful kind girl who is Unico's original mistress, in the pilot film and manga. She appears to be a young girl with slightly wavy brown hair and wears a headband. She wears Roman/Greek robes. Her appearance is slightly different in the manga, with her hair up in an ornate ponytail and her looking the slightest older.
The goddess of love and beauty, Venus, becomes jealous of Psyche's praised beauty and kindness, and also of Unico, blaming him as Psyche's source of good luck. Though this is only shown in the manga and not the pilot film, Venus sends her son Cupid to shoot a arrow of love into Psyche so she will fall in love with something horrible and ugly. Venus then comes to the think that Unico is Psyche's source of good luck when Unico foils Cupid's job and makes him only succeed in shooting himself and falling in love with Psyche.
Venus then banishes Unico, and her orders are carried out by West Wind.
