Family Photo Album Their Story: SPOILERS FOR SUPER SEASON Tomoe Hotaru first grew up with her father and mother. Than one day a fire broke out, killing her mother, and causing Hotarus father to withdraw to his scientific studies. Hotaru became very lonely, partly because her father was working all the time, and partly because she had a strange ability to heal people. This ability caused everyone to be afraid of her. One day one of the professors experiments went wrong and killed all the help, including Hotaru, who had been watching nearby. Suddenly the Daemon Master appeared, and told professor Tomoe that Hotaru would live again if he gave up his soul. The professor agreed, and soon began searching for the three talismans that make the Holy Grail. At this time, two strange new senshi appeared in front of the other soldiers. They called themselves Uranus and Neptune. These new senshi were on a mission to find the three talismans before evil professor Tomoe did. If the holy grail got into the hands of evil, the Soldier of Destruction (Sailor Saturn) would awaken. This awakening would than bring the Silence, which would dystroy the world. But if it were in the hands of the Messiah, the world would be brought to peace. One day, Haruka Ten'ou and Michiru Kaiou recived a call from Eudial, one of professor Tomoes henchmen ('er... henchwomen). She called saying she had found the talismans they had been looking for. If they wanted to see them, they should meet her at the Marine Cathedral. Because Eudials call had "matched their intuition" Haruka and Michiru decided to go. Once at the Cathedral, they were attacked by Eudial, and Neptune was taken hostage. Sailor Uranus ran after her, but recived a suprise attack of bullets from the cathedral walls. Lying on the ground, she was informed that her partner, Neptune, and she herself were holders of the talismans they had been searching so hard for. Sailor Neptune, who was tied up nearby, heard the whole thing. Before Eudial could shoot out the talisman from Sailor Uranus, Neptune pulled herself out of the vines, and ran after her. The suprised Eudial quickly turned around and shot Neptune instead. Quickly after Neptunes talisman appeared, the Deep Aqua Mirror, Sailor Moon came to the rescue. After knocking Eudial down some sort of elevator shaft, she ran to Sailor Uranus. Uranus told Sailor Moon about their mission, and asked that she find the last talisman and save the world from the Silence. Uranus quickly took Eudials gun and shot herself, producing the second talisman, the Space Sword. As it turned out, Setsuna Meiou (aka. Sailor Pluto) had been the first one to recieve her talisman, the Garnet Orb. I'm not clear exactally how she recived it, she's a very mysterious senshi, and it might be unknown altogether how she got it. All I know, is that it unlocks the gate of time, and is the source of power for her attack, "Dead Scream". Now that the holy grail was created, and in the hands of Sailor Moon, the Daemon Master needed a way to get it. So he sent Kaolinite to kidnap little Chibi-Usa, knowing Hotaru had a friendship with her, and that she would do anything to keep her safe. Hotaru fell into the trap, and went after her friend. She was than told by Kaolinite, that to save Chibi-Usa's life, she would have to swallow her heart crystal. Hotaru agreed and swllowed it, making her transform into evil Mistress 9. As Mistress 9, Hotaru only had one goal. That was to summon Pharoh 90 with the sacred cup, so she could dystroy the world. So the Death Busters, together with Mistress 9, called Pharoh 90 down to earth. Meanwhile, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto arrived on the scene only to feel the explosion that occured after calling Pharoh 90. This almost killed them, but Pluto rescued Uranus and Neptune by using Time Stop. Inside the building, the Daemon Master left professor Tomoes body to fight the rest of the senshi. The senshi successfully defeated him and freed professor Tomoe. Because Mistress 9 was Hotarus other self, she could only break free on her own. Using her memories of her father, Sailor Saturn awakened, dysroying Mistress 9. Sailor Saturn than returned Chibi-Usa her heart crystal, saving her life. Returning to the battle, Sailor Saturn, with the help of Sailor Moon, undid the evil that was brought to the world by Mistress 9 and Pharoh 90. Because Hotaru had two selves, Mistress 9 and Hotaru, she was reborn again. Little baby Hotaru was now in the care of the older, more responsible, and far cooler, outer senshi. Of course she was returned to her father for a while after he awoke from his coma. But she had to be taken back in he beginning of the Stars season so she could awaken and help fight their biggest battle ever.
