If you look closely across the untamed land 100miles east from Pegasus's home, you will find them. The monsters that run free, with no human to tame them. Especially my kind, the Crystal Pegasus, as humans call them. Many tried to catch us, and they have failed. I grew here, until one horrible night. I was only a foal when Ala, my mother, the leader of the herd, saw something in the distance on the clear, moonlit night. She was gone until sunrise, when I heard the most unearthly cries of my life. Harpies flew in terror, screaming warnings. That's when I saw them. One, which the others called Malik, had a group of Silver Fang running at my mother's heels. The other humans used their beasts to attack the rest of the herd. Us foals were told to run with Jewel and Northstar, but I ran to my mom, out of sheer instinct. Malik saw me come, and he and the others laughed. He whistled, and a dog came running to me. Northstar, in his silver wonder, blocked the teeth from my hide. The dogs tore at my mom, until a human flew from nowhere. He had shoulder length white hair, and wore red. He held a stick, hitting the dogs with a fury, cursing. I heard Malik call out his name and curse. He was called, Pegasus. I whinnied, as my mom's throat was torn. She was going to die. Pegasus called out a monster, and a fight started. Most monsters were trampled by Northstar easily, and the humans fled, all but Pegasus. We looked at eachother, tears in his eyes. He backed away, yet I followed. Could I trust him? Should I trust him? Northstar, among the others, disagreed, though he saved all, but Ala. He stayed with us, until the cold winter came. I went with him, I could trust Pegasus. I could tell he wanted me to stay with the herd, but I went with him. That was years ago, I was there when his fiance died, when the tournament was going on, and finally, his defeat by Yugi. I was released back to my herd. Nothing had changed, except new foals. He said I could come and go as I pleased. I knew I would see him again. I still don't trust many humans, but he was an exception. He seemed like one of my kind. His final words to me were "Farewell, Cierra".
