Best friend of Setsuna since childhood. Kira is really the sword soul of the Nanatsusaya, who claims to only be following Setsuna because he always follows Alexiel's reincarnations due to his allegiance/love/hatred of her (pick one). Kira is, for most of the manga, immortal due to a splashing of blood from when the sword was used to strike down Rociel. The soul within the sword turns out to be the soul of Lucifer, although Kira was never himself aware of this, and he goes back to being Lucifer after finally dying. The real Kira Sakuya is always referred to as "Sakuya", and was near death from an accident at a young age when he allowed the sword soul to take over his body.
