Larva is Miyu's companion and servant of sorts who is joined to her by her taking his blood. The two share a deep spiritual bond and are constantly concerned with each other's welfare. Although Larva is meant to serve Miyu, their relationship is much more than master and servant. In the OVAs, Larva is silent and seems much less human. In the tv series he is extremely wise and confers with Miyu, and also removes his mask more often. His role in the sealing of shinma also differs between animes. In the tv series he is much more active and his technique varies whilst his main purpose in the OVAs is to "write" the shinma's name as the first step in sealing it.
