Love Hina is 25 episode series with a Christmas and a Spring Special.  This series contains lots of laughs and a incredible story line and I recommend it to those that haven't seen the series.  Hey, who doesn't want to be living with 5 beautifully drawn females?  Love Hina does get serious during the specials, but still this is a title you shouldn't miss out on. 

"Do you know?  When two people who are in love can both get into Tokyo University, they'll be living happily forever....When we grow up, let's go to Tokyo University together..."

This quote is the basis for Love Hina and why the main character is trying to get into Tokyo U, or Toudai.  Episodes vary greatly from one to another.  The anime gets deep with the characters as they struggle to find themselves.  Keitarou struggles with his true feelings and Naru struggles with a promise made when she was little.  Shinobu ponders her feelings towards Keitarou and easily overreacts to tough situations.  Su, the wonderful Su, struggles over the love of her brother which happens to look a lot like Keitarou but with a tan.  Overall the episodes due lead to the main task - Getting into Tokyo U.  Two specials were released.  The Christmas special in which if you commit on the before the stroke on midnight to the person you love, those two will be together.  Misunderstanding leads to this funny but serious special.  In the Spring special, after the months of studying, do Keitarou and Naru get into Tokyo U?

 The main characters in Love Hina are:

Urashima Keitarou is your typical high school student trying to get into a university.  He's clumsy most of the time and perverted the other times.  You'll see what I mean.  Keitarou is one of the 3 kids you see playing in the playground when the promise was made.  Since he failed the entrances exams 3 years straight, his parents forced him to live with his aunt, Haruka in the Hinata Inn.  

Narusegawa Naru is also your typical high school girl who is also thriving to get into Toudai.  Her reasons seem to become clear at first, but her main reason changes as the series progresses.  She's very intelligent, but she too failed the entrance exams.  She is one of the girls that live in Hinata Inn.  She seems to be in the end of Keitarou's perversions and it's unclear of her feelings.  The funny parts are when she's the one beating up on Keitarou.

Aoyama Motoko is the only swordswoman and the oldest of the group.  She's usually seen with her sword and slicing the air to blow away Keitarou.  Motoko inherited her family dojo and the teachings are very important to her.  Unlike her sister who passed on the sword to her, Motoko is uneasy about falling in love.  She has trouble even training when Keitarou is around.  Another thing is that she has a fear of turtles.  She's usually seen with her school mates.   

Konno Mitsune went to high school with Naru.  She can be seen drinking booze.  She's the adult one in the Hinata Inn.  Everyone calls her Kitsune.  She's very cunning in her actions and she'll surprise you at times.  She's carefree and definitely a risk taker.  

Su Kaolla is one of the youngest members and if not the funniest of the girls in Hinata Inn.  She is also the only one that isn't Japanese.  She's the scientist among the girls and is not afraid to blow things up.  She'll eat almost anything that doesn't kill her.  She also has a fascination on eating their pet turtle, Tama.  She is best friends with Shinobu.  Su also has another side of her when the red full moon is out.  She has a sister and a brother.  

Maehara Shinobu is the youngest and newest member of the Hinata girls.  She is also the innocent of the group.  Su's parents use to own the restaurant near the inn.  Her parents are divorced and her dad is is a taxi driver in Tokyo.  She doesn't tend to express her emotions, but has a crush on someone.  She's the only one that can cook and clean. 

Otohime Mutsumi is also your very typical high school student.  She too, has failed to entrance exams and the reasons are not cause she is dumb.  She tends to space out at times and even faints too.  She seems to be happy too, most of the time.  She has a pet turtle named Tama.  She seems tired too.  She is the 3rd person in the playground along with Naru and Keitarou.
