Maro!
Unfortunately, there isn't much information about Maro out there, or at least I haven't found out much beyond watching the show. Maro is a little squirrel who lives on top of Mama's head. Yes, on top of her head, in her hairstyles. He squeaks and interacts with the other characters. Maro appears in every episode in some form. He and Mama are very close and have a relaxed relationship, him crawling all over her head (sometimes her face!) and mama talking to him occasionally.
If anything, Maro-chan is very intelligent. He uses the contraptions in Mama's hairpieces. Sometimes the hairstyles may include a little house for Maro, an amusement park, or even a shuttle launchpad! Maro can operate them all.
