Megumi Hayashibara is perhaps the most famous voice actress in anime. She has done the voices of a great number of popular characters, as well as a great many opening songs, not to mention being a member of DoCo.

She has done the voices for Pai in 3x3 Eyes, Tira Mis in Bakuretsu Hunter, Nuku Nuku in All-Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku, Saeki Tomoko in DNA², Yousuke Nanao in Maison Ikkoku, Rei Ayanami, Yui Ikari, and Pen Pen from Neon Genesis Evangelion, Ranma-chan in Ranma 1/2, Lime in Saber Marionette J and Saber Marionette J to X, and Lina Inverse in Slayers, to name a few.
