Chapter 6 - The Tower
* * * * * * * *
Zoycite watched her Rainbow Crystals, thinking. Malachite was nervously walking up and down. They were in a room of the Starlight Tower and waited for Nephrite.
"Why couldn't you get the last Rainbow Crystal?" Malachite asked, angrily.
"It was in a cat," Zoycite answered nervously. "I hate cats." she added, to be on the safe side.
Thinking, Malachite looked out of the window.

Nephrite watched the Starlight Tower. The building was enormous between the skyscrapers of the city, and looked like a big crystal.
Nephrite had Sailor Moon's Rainbow Crystal in his trousers pocket. He sunk his head, breathing deeply. Everything around him was darkness.
Nephrite raised his head up and looked behind himself. He saw no-one, but he was sure that the Sailor Scouts would follow him. 'What can go wrong?' he tried to convince himself.
"Hello Nephrite!" he heard a male voice saying, and a warm hand touched his shoulder.
Nephrite turned his head around. "Darien?"
The man with the black, short hair smiled at him. "Yes, it's me. How are you?"
"What are you doing here?" Nephrite wanted to know.
Darien smiled. "I could ask you the same. How about going drinking somewhere?"
Nephrite sunk his head. "I'm sorry, I can't."
Darien looked into Nephrite's eyes, wondering. "Is something wrong with you?"
"No," Nephrite replied, "everything is okay."
"For sure?" Darien wanted to know.
"For sure." Nephrite said. "Now, goodbye, Darien."
"Wait a minute." Darien grabbed Nephrite by his shoulder. "Why are you so dismissive?"
Nephrite watched Darien, smiling. "I'm just very busy, Darien. Now, you'd better go."
Darien's eyes grew big. "What do you mean, better go?"
Nephrite sighed. "I'll tell you that another day, Darien. Now please go."
"You look unhappy." Darien said. "Do you have problems, Mr. Stanton? Maybe we can talk about together."
"Piss off!" Nephrite scolded.
Darien jerked and went one step backward.
Nephrite breathed deeply. "I'm sorry, Darien." he said and turned away, to walk on to the Starlight Tower.
When Nephrite neared the building, he suddenly was surrounded by a red light. He felt himself teleported away against his will.
* * * * * * * *
When the red light disappeared, he found himself in a big hall with large windows, on which Zoycite was leaning.
"Ah, our beloved traitor," she said. "You even brought an earth friend with you?"
"Earth friend?" Nephrite asked, wondering, and turned around.
Behind him, on the floor, lay a man with short, black hair. "Darien," Nephrite said.
"I hope, you have the Rainbow Crystals with you," Zoycite said to Nephrite. "or your little girlfriend gets serious problems."
"First I want to see her." Nephrite said.
Zoycite shrugged her shoulders. "Always the demands. Bandana?"
The ninja youma came out of the floor, holding Molly in her arms.
Molly's hair was loose, and she was surrounded by a red ribbon, which was squeezing her throat together. Molly gasped.
"Molly!" Nephrite said.
"Now give me the Rainbow Crystals!" Zoycite said, opening her hand. "Or Bandana will kill her!"
Nephrite reached into his trousers pocket and laid the Sailor Scouts' Rainbow Crystals into Zoycite's hand.
"More," she said. "Where are the other two?"
"I already told you in the jewelry store," Nephrite said. "I can't give you Tuxedo Mask's crystals, because I don't know who Tuxedo Mask is."
"He's right here," a male voice said.
Nephrite turned around. "Darien?"
Darien took a rose out of his jacket and turned, surrounded by red lights, to Tuxedo Mask.
Zoycite grinned. "How good, that I've got you all together now."
Tuxedo Mask jumped to her, hit her hand with his stick, making her drop the Rainbow Crystals. He grabbed them from the floor and ran away with them.
"Tuxedo Mask!" Zoycite shouted, following him. "Come back! They're mine!"
Nephrite used the chance to send an energy flash to Bandana, which freed Molly from the red ribbon.
Molly, exhausted, fell on the floor. Nephrite took her into his arms. He started running away with her, when suddenly they were surrounded by lots of Bandanas. Below them a fire was burning. A fire? Nephrite looked up.
He was relieved to see that it was Sailor Mars. Bandana became just one youma again. Nephrite looked at the Sailor Scouts, smiling.
"Just at the right time," Sailor Jupiter said.
"You have to do your job now, Sailor Moon," Sailor Mars said.
"Okay," Sailor Moon said, nodding.
Sailor Moon took her diadem, said "Moon stone, ... fly and win!" and threw it to the youma. Bandana was torn apart, screaming.
Molly opened her eyes. "Nephrite?" she said.
"Yes," Nephrite whispered. "I am with you."
He carefully let Molly free.
"What's happened with the Rainbow Crystals now?" Sailor Mars asked.
"Tuxedo Mask got them." Nephrite answered. "Sailor Moon, I have to tell you something you probably won't like to hear: Tuxedo Mask is Darien."
Sailor Moon's eyes grew big. "Darien?"
Nephrite said: "Somehow he was teleported to the Starlight Tower with me. When Zoycite wanted to have Tuxedo Mask's crystals, Darien suddenly turned into Tuxedo Mask and took Zoycite's crystals away."
"Tuxedo Mask is Darien," Sailor Moon said, shocked.
"I've thought all along that Darien's Tuxedo Mask." Sailor Mars said, looking at Sailor Moon. "But you didn't believe me."
"Why did he unmask in front of Nephrite and Zoycite?" Sailor Mercury asked herself. "What sense could it have?"
"When we met at the puppet fair the first time," Nephrite said, "it was to me as if we already knew each other. It was almost the same as with Sailor Jupiter," Nephrite said.
"So you really already knew her?" Molly asked.
"Yes," Nephrite said, sinking his head. "I had the feeling that I was together with her in a life before."
"Nephrite and Sailor Jupiter were once lovers?" Sailor Moon said, wondering.
"Sailor Moon!" Sailor Mars scolded. "You're really tactless!"
"What's going on?" Sailor Moon replied. "What have I done wrong this time?"
Molly looked a little depressed. "That's okay, Sailor Mars," she said. "It was just in a life before."
"Anyway, we have to find out," Sailor Mercury said, "why Tuxedo Mask wants these ..."
"Crystals!" Molly shouted.
Before the Sailor Scouts and Nephrite could look around, a large ice crystal fell on the floor. The Sailor Scouts and Nephrite barely got out of way. On the ceiling were numbers of ice crystals, which started falling down.
"Zoycite," Nephrite said. "To the lift!" he called.
Nephrite, Molly and the Sailor Scouts ran towards the lift. Behind them more and more ice crystals fell down. The floor started breaking.
"Faster!" Nephrite shouted.
When he reached the lift, he nervously pressed the button over and over. Finally the lift door opened.
Nephrite looked behind. Molly almost was at the lift. He reached out one hand and pulled her into the lift. Nephrite lent out his hand one more time for the Sailor Scouts, when suddenly the floor broke below them, and they fell with the stones, screaming.
"No!" Molly shouted in tears.
The lift door closed and grew in front of Nephrite's and Molly's eyes full of roots.
Nephrite studied the fused lift door. "Malachite," he said. "He has to be here somewhere."
There was a shock, and the lift drove upward.
Molly sat on the floor and cried.
* * * * * * * *
Surrounded by darkness, Zoycite stood on a roots fused railing and looked down to the lift. She opened her hands and created ribbons of fire.
When the flames were big enough, she sent them down to the lift.
* * * * * * * *
Molly and Nephrite sat together on the floor of the lift. Molly was crying and Nephrite had taken her into his arms.
Suddenly they heard a sound. When they looked up, they saw a fireball running down to them.
Nephrite, giving up, pulled Molly closer. "I love you, Molly." he whispered.
It got hot and all that could be seen were red and yellow lights.
* * * * * * * *
There was an explosion. Zoycite watched how the flames for a short while lit up the hall. Stones fell on the floor in front of her feet. Then everything around was dark smoke.
Zoycite softly smiled. She looked on the floor. "That's the end of Nephrite and the Sailor Scouts."
"What have you done with them?" an angry voice shouted.
Zoycite looked to the lift, where the voice came from, jerking. In front of the exploded lift doors stood Nephrite and Molly. Their skin was dirty, scratched, and scraped, and their clothes were torn, but they were alive.
Zoycite's eyes grew big.
Nephrite, furious, ran to her. "Murderer! Damn killer!"
"Nephrite!" Molly called.
Nephrite clenched his hand to a fist and rammed it into Zoycite's stomach. Zoycite sank to the floor, gasping. Madly, Nephrite hit with his fist on her back. Zoycite collapsed flat on the floor.
Breathing hard, Nephrite grabbed Zoycite by her collar and pulled her up from the floor. "What have you done?" he said in tears. "You monster!"
"That's no way to talk to my girlfriend!" Nephrite heard a male voice.
When he looked up, he saw Malachite standing at the destroyed lift. With one arm he held Molly, keeping her mouth shut.
Malachite grinned. "Stop beating Zoycite. You wouldn't like it if I hurt this red head," he said, looking at Molly, "would you?"
Nephrite let Zoycite free.
"And now, General Nephrite," Malachite said, "you're going to have the chance to show your honey the Negaverse." He smiled at his girlfriend. "Let's go, Zoycite."
