“Mamo-chan!” Usagi whined. “I want to go eat now!”
Mamoru chuckled. “Usagi you’ll have to wait! We are shopping for Clarissa-chan right now.”
The three were walking down the street checking out things in windows for Clarissa. So far their trip had been unproductive, as Usagi had distracted them by whining constantly.
“Usagi-chan!” Clarissa smiled. “How about you go and wait for us at Crown and we’ll get some things in this store and then head to Crown and meet you.”
Usagi brightened at that, then frowned dangerously. “Mamo-chan is mine!” She stated.
Clarissa and Mamoru both looked embarrassed. “Usako,” Mamoru started. “Clarry and I are sister and brother so you really don’t have to worry about that...”
Nervous laughter followed while Usagi scratched the back of her head. “Ahaha... Yes I know! Ok Mamo-chan; come to the Crown soon! Ja Clarissa-chan!” Turning she sped off down the street in the direction of the Crown restaurant.
“Bunny.” A voice called her in English as she stepped into the restaurant. “Usagi over here,” the voice repeated in Japanese.
Glancing to the back of the restaurant, Usagi’s face broke into a smile as she saw Sean sitting at one of the tables. “Konnichi wa!” she plopped into the booth with him with a happy smile.
“Hey Usagi-chan,” Sean smiled back at her. “Would you like something to eat? It’s on me.”
Usagi grinned. “Hai!” She cried snatching the menu quickly and calling Unazuki. “Unazuki-chan! I’ll have,” And Usagi proceeded to order most of the items on the menu while Sean’s eyes became bigger and bigger and he looked down to his wallet mournfully.
“It’s OK Usagi-chan,” He said with a wry smile. “Me and the guys will just starve for the next couple days!”
“Hai!” Usagi agreed with another happy smile, causing Sean to laugh.
“Usagi-chan listen,” He said after a minute while they waited for Usagi’s food to arrive. “You’re a really nice girl and I really like you.”
“I really like you too Sean,” Usagi started to reply, but was cut off as he took her hands in his.
“I mean I really like you Usagi. I want you to be my girlfriend...”
"Nani??" Usagi blinked and started to protest, but Sean leaned over the table and pressed his lips softly to hers.
“Usako!” Mamoru’s shocked voice came from the entrance to the Crown.
“Sean...” Clarissa whispered, stunned.
“Sean-san, stop it!” Usagi cried, half falling from the booth and staring at him with wide eyes.
“Usagi-chan I mean it,” Sean stood up to take her hands.
“Sean don’t touch her,” Mamoru said, coldly stepping forward and pulling Usagi behind him.
“Mamoru-san, Clarissa-chan.” Sean looked at the other two people seeming to notice them for the first time.
“Hey what’s happening here?” Unazuki came running from the kitchen, looking at Sean curiously. “Usagi-chan what's going on? Everyone looks really serious? Aren’t Mamoru-san and Sean-san friends? Why do they look like they will start thowing punches any second?” She demanded, looking worried.
“Sean how could you??” Clarissa cried, running quickly towards the back of the restaurant with tears standing out in her eyes. After glaring at Sean, targeting him as the cause of the trouble, Unazuki followed with Usagi close behind, leaving the two men alone.
“Sean how could you do that?” Mamoru asked the man he had considered a friend coldly.
“Do what man?” Sean grinned at him leaning against the table.
“You know Usagi is my girlfriend and don’t act innocent! How could you try and put moves on her? And in front of myself and Clarissa.”
“I don’t know what you mean being so upset Mamoru,” Sean replied pushing off the table and walking over to stand in front of Mamoru. “Usagi likes me almost as much as I like her, at this rate we are destined to be together. Don’t worry there are lots of-“ His explanation was cut off as Mamoru’s fist slammed into his jaw.
“Don’t you ever touch my girl again,” Mamoru said coldly.
Usagi and Unazuki caught up with Clarissa in the bathroom.
“Usagi,” Clarissa looked up at the pigtailed teenager, her face streaked with tears and her eyes a bit red from crying.
“Clarissa-chan,” Usagi replied, looking near tears herself. “I don’t feel for him that way! I love only Mamoru, I swear I didn’t know he was going to kiss me, I know how you feel about him.
“Really Usagi?” Clarissa looked almost painfully hopeful.
“Clarissa-chan listen,” Unazuki stated, putting her hand softly on Clarissa’s shoulder. “I know I don’t really know you well, but I’ve known Usagi for quite a while! She is totally in love with Mamoru and would never want anyone else, you can ask practically anyone in the city about their love.” This got a watery smile from Clarissa.
“I’m glad, Usagi-chan. I need you as a friend when I feel so alone. And thank you as well Unazuki-chan, I hope I can consider you my friend as well.”
“You can Clarissa,” Unazuki smiled and the three girls hugged tightly.
When they came out of the bathroom Sean was nowhere to be found and Mamoru was sitting in a booth alone.
“Mamoru,” Usagi ran to the booth quickly hugging her boyfriend and explaining what had happened and that she had not wanted that and she only loved him. After a couple minutes of the endless explanations Mamoru smiled helplessly and hugged her. “I know Usako, I know.”
“I’m sorry but I need to get back to work,” Unazuki smiled sadly and after giving her friends a wry smile she left the three alone at the booth.
“Sean and I,” Clarissa started in a small voice. “We go back a long way. On the moon kingdom, when Serenity and Endymion were courting, I used to follow my brother up to the moon.”
“Sean was from the moon then?” Usagi asked curiously. “Do you think I knew him?”
Mamoru smiled fondly at her. “It makes sense, Usagi. He is Opposite Moon after all.”
Clarissa continued. “Sean was a knight there, he never told me much about himself but we became very close and fell in love secretly.” Her voice had a wistful note in it. “I miss him so much.”
“Don’t worry sis,” Mamoru leaned over the table to squeeze his sisters hands. “We’ll get him back. If you could turn good again then so can they! We only have to find out how.”
“Hai!” Usagi nodded brightly. “And we’ll change all the Opposite Senshi to our side and all be friends!”
Clarissa actually smiled. “I don’t think it should be too hard, if I remember correctly, each of the inner senshi were close to the men who are now the Opposite Senshi! I’m sure Sean and all the others will willingly turn back to their loves as soon as they are forced to remember.”
“Well lets start trying!” Usagi jumped up energetically. “Who should we go after first Clarissa-chan??”
Clarissa smiled standing as well. “Ange should be first! He’s younger than the rest and he is very caring, I just know we can turn him back and then with his help the others will be easy!”
“Alright,” Mamoru stood to join the excited girls. “Lets go find him now!”
Together the three headed for the exit of the restaurant with a new resolve.
Sean watched the three leave the Crown from the shadows of an alley across the street, quietly rubbing the bruise on his jaw. “Mamoru will pay for that, Usagi will be mine.” His eyes flashed and he dissappeared.
