Review: Serial Experiments Lain

Serial Experiments Lain, A series that aired in 1998 in Japan, is now being released by Pioneer Animation in the US. A young girl, Lain Iwakura, recieves an e-mail from a fellow student that committed suicide a week earlier. Lain is puzzled by this and sets forth a way to communicate on the "wired". She also is around with her friends and some strange things occur, and some strange people are watching her from her house, what will happen? Is the line between the real world and the wired to blurred?

This series has excellent art and the animation is above standard, while the plot will keep you guessing to the end. The series has some character development that will intrigue you, get you to know the different faces of Lain. This series is a very serious series, with violence and more mature themes, for this Pioneer has rated it 16 and up. I think this series should be watched by everyone, especially the EVA fans, so they can keep on guessing about weird endings.
