Review: Slayers Try

Slayers Try, the third and final series in the Slayers trilogy, has a very compelling story. The group meets up with some new people, Filia (upper left hand corner), a fire dragon king priestess, as well as a golden dragon. Next, comes Valgaav (upper right hand corner) Who was a servant of the late Gaav. In this series, after Phibrizzio has been destroyed, a magical barrier that has trapped the groups' within a small area , has dissolved. Thus making an entire new world to explore. One of the catches is, no-one outside the barrier can use magic, making Lina-san's and co.'s so much more powerful. But now some mysterious people are trying to get the sword of light, and use it to (dun dun dun) destroy the world! What will happen next?

The animation in this series is the best so far in the Slayers TV world. The new explosion effects and higher budget make for some great times. The theme song , Breeze, is not the catchiest of the openings but you'll love it nontheless. The plot is by far the most intuitive of the series'. The characters are more life-like, but it takes time to see what has happened since the last series. This is a must have for Slayers fans, and comedy buffs alike. It contains the usual violence and minor language.
