Review: X/1999
X/1999, a movie by the spectacular CLAMP group(Rayearth,CCS), about Kamui, who plays a key role in the fate of the world, but what is that role? Could he destroy Earth or Save it? This is the story behind X/1999 aka X. It's based on the Manga(Japanese Comics) by Clamp, a group of Shojo artists(who I add are very good). It's between the Dragons of the Earth who want the Earth destroyed(cleansed of the pollution man has created) and the Dragons of Heaven who want Mankind to survive.
X deals with the fights between these clans and Kamui and his child hood friend Fuma, one will become a Dragon of the Earth the Other a Dragon of the Heaven. The animation is breathtaking, by far some of the best I have seen. The Plot is wonderful, even though from the manga it lost some of it's character quality(to short for all character development.) This movie is very gory though, and is rated R for that and some non-sexual nudity in the opening scene. Really a must see.
