Yoko Kanno- Collabrator

Yoko Kanno, a composer with a huge fan base, was born on May 19, 1964 on Japan's main island of Honshu. She started to playing the piano about the age 4. One of the unique things about her is her music spans from techno to classical, from jazz to rock. She tried to attend Waseda University but dropped out. Her first band was Tetsu 100% and she played the keyboard. She then started to work on video game soundtracks with Koei including the Uncharted Waters series.Next she left Koei and wrote some solo songs for the Macross Plus OVA soundtarck. She has then worked on some of the most influential anime soundtracks ever, including Escaflowne and Please Save my Earth. She freuqenlty collabrates with Hajime Mizo Guchi, a cello player who did a lot of work on PSmE. She has also produced many other works with other artists, inclduing Maayo Sakamoto, who was the seiyuu of Hitomi in Escaflowne. She has also pruduced some solo albums of her own. Her pieces can range from jazzy (Cowboy Bebeop) to classical and anything inbetween. Her excellent flexibility in her music and partners make her an undeniable force in the Anime industry.
