Mitsuru Tsuwabuki is an adorable little 4th grader who wants to be Nanami's "big brother." He goes so far as getting Nanami into accidents just to save her. It all started when Mitsuru was a little boy playing in the sandbox. He sees a raging bull heading towards Nanami and all of a sudden, Touga comes out of nowhere and saves her. At the sight of this, Mitsuru longs to become Nanami's "big brother" so he can protect and save her. Once Nanami sees how Mitsuru adores her, she takes advantage of it. For a while, Mitsuru is Nanami's boyfriend. He helps her cheat on tests, makes her lunch, and so on. The students of Ohtori Academy find this relationship very odd, since they all know that Nanami loves Touga, and also because of their age difference. When a boxing kangaroo comes after Nanami, Mitsuru has yet another chance to save her. But then Touga pops out of nowhere to save his little sister. Then Nanami dumps Mitsuru, but he still yearns to be Nanami's protection. He doesn't appear again until the Black Rose saga where he asks Utena and Anthy what makes someone a grown up. Utena says someone who's had lots of experiences in life. With that, Mitsuru goes to Nemuro Memorial Hall where Mikage turns him into a duelits. There he battles Utena and draws a sword from Nanami's chest. To sum this child up, he is a cute little kid who is obsessed with Nanami and is also a Black Rose duelist. Oh and an interesting fact: Mitsuru is like the only one who hasn't had his "innocence" taken away. Also he's "taken a ride" with Akio...
Your first name of Mitsuru has given you a practical, logical, analytical approach to life and a great deal of patience. You enjoy working at anything of a mechanical or technical nature, and believe that what is worth doing is worth doing well. When you are interested in a project, you concentrate all your thoughts on it and do not appreciate being interrupted. This name creates a deliberate and methodical way of thinking and speaking; it takes you time to learn but, once you have mastered a subject, you do not forget it. You are very systematic in all you do and do not like to see things out of order; however, there is a tendency for you to be too fussy. There is a seriousness to your nature which could cause you to worry over your responsibilities, especially when confronted with change and uncertainty. You are overly fond of heavy foods such as meat, potatoes, breads and pastries and could suffer with stomach and intestinal disorders, constipation or boils.
As Tsuwabuki you have a great love of nature and the out-of-doors, and could have a desire to be in an occupation which takes you outdoors and involves you with the products of the earth. All the finer things of life and beauties of nature are an inspiration to you and you are attracted to the mysteries of nature. Difficulty in expression results in your being too positive, blunt, and candid in speech. Although you are easily offended by others, you do not show it. You crave affection and understanding, but rarely find it as others do not understand you and accuse you of being cool and aloof. The average person would never realize the true depth of your nature. A very individual, independent person, you live within your own thoughts. The insecurity you experience from limited verbal expression and social ease results in a jealous possessiveness and suffering through frustration, repressed emotion, and self-consciousness. This name would cause tension affecting the eyes, teeth, sinuses, ears or throat troubles; there could also be sensitivity in the heart, lungs, and respiratory organs, and frequent headaches.
-Nanami: Mitsuru is one of my favorite second-class characters. He's not a main character, but his presence in the few episodes he's in is great. Especially in episode #6 where he is Nanami's "boyfriend" for a while. His determination to be her "big brother" is very strong. He has good intentions for a little kid and that's cool. His whole innocent and childish aura appeals a lot to me. Plus he has the most adorable dueling outfit! This may not be true to the other members of the Utena Crew though...
-Tenchi: I think Mitsuru is bad azz. Anyone who likes Nanami is kewl! He tries so hard to be "related" to her. Determination like that takes mad skills. His dueling uniform is kewl, but I liked the sweater he wears when he was little, and tried to save Nanami for the first time... but no!!! Stupid Touga had to come along and miraculously knock down a raging bull! How the hell is that possible anyway?! You don't even get to see how he knocked it out. Mitsuru should have been the one to save her!
