Kiryuu Nanami

Kiryuu Nanami is Touga's little sister. We can all say that Nanami is crazy about her brother. Touga is like God to Nanami. She gets really pissed whenever women try to get with him and when she isn't the center of his attention. Like Miki says, Touga is her perfect man and no one will ever come close. Nanami and her brother were adopted by their not-so-loving parents. Touga was always her shoulder to cry on and her protection. You can tell Nanami is really obsessed when she hurts a kitty cat. So this is the story: Nanami couldn't think of anything to give Touga for his birthday. So she finds him a nice little kitty cat. Once Touga starts paying more attention to the cat, Nanami gets super pissed, and bashes the cat on the head. Then she puts the cat in a box, and tosses the box into a dam. *Poor kitty* Once she really realized what she had done, she starts feeling bad and stays close to Touga. Once they get older, things become between them. *cough* women *cough* So once a woman gets close to Touga, Nanami gets her bitch brigade on her. (BTW, the bitch brigade, as I call them, is made up of Keiko, Yuuko, and Aiko.) Once Touga shows interest in Utena, Nanami challenges her to a duel. Nanami loses in like 6 seconds (Those are oficial numbers, Miki timed it.) After Touga lost a duel with Utena and retreated into seclusion, Nanami sort of took over the Student Council. She got a sword taken out of her chest by a Black Rose Duelist in one of the episodes, just like everyone else. One of the funny things about Nanami is that she is sort of equatable to the comic relief. Every stand-alone episode (the really wacky ones that have nothing to do with anything) involve her in some way. In one, she got her hands on some sort of legendary spice that blew up and switched Utena and Anthy's personalities. Oh, wait, that was just Anthy's cooking... In another one, all her plots are exposed though Tsuwabuki's diary. In still another, she gets a "designer cowbell" in the mail and slowly turns into a cow. I told you they were wacky. Later in the series, she discovers what she thinks is proof that she and Touga are not really siblings. This crushes her, and she also hears Touga talk to another girl about how he only tolerates her because she is his adopted sister. She goes to live with Utena, Anthy, and Akio in the tower, which results in some interesting situations. When Touga comes to get her, he actually looks shocked that she does not want to come home with him. Touga showing sincere emotion? It's truely a sight to behold :) Anyway, she eventually comes back home (after it's revealed, although not to her, that she and Touga really are siblings). Nanami, like the others in the Student Council, has definate psychological problems. At the beginning, I really didn't like her, but as time went on I began to feel truly sorry for her. She loved Touga, she really did, and he chose to treat her like he did everyone else (except Utena), at least, until the end.

Your name of Nanami gives you a very idealistic but passive outlook on life. You desire culture and all the refinements of life but you are inclined to live in your dreams. -Nanami: Nanami is a very straight-up person. She stands for what she believes in and I love her bitchy attitude. Nanami has lots of girl power. If you piss her off, she'll get Touga on you! Sure she wants all the attention sometimes, but don't all girls? I also enjoy her encounters with animals and her process of becoming a woman. Nanami is a very comedic and strong girl. The meaning of her name also makes me just crack up! *LOL*

-Miki: Do you know what a "Paulownia Living Seven Nut" is? Well, just incase you didn't, it's Kiryuu Nanami! The bad azz, big boss mama you don't wanna mess with!!! Nanami is the best! She is my second favorite character. The bitchy attitude is just awesome. All of the funny episodes include her too, which is a great thing! I love the curry episode. What I didn't like about it was that some damn elephants on steroids kept stopping her from getting hooked-up with some secret spice from India! Nanami's also got a clique led by Keiko. Keiko will stick you in yo grill if you mess with Nanami!

-Usagi: Although Nanami was really funny in the animal episode(snails, mongoose, big octopus...) she's kinda bitchy...I mean it was really mean what she did to Anthy (the disolving dress situation). Even though most people don't like Anthy it still wasn't right.
