  Makoto transfered to Juuban Junior High School, where Usagi and Ami go, after being expelled from another school because of a fight. However she is not in the same classes as the other two girls. Also, Makoto lives alone in an apartment because her parents were killed in a plane crash.

  Makoto loves to cook. Because of this, she has a habit of making way more food than she needs and ends up sharing it with others, much to Usagi's delight. She also spends a great deal of time thinking about guys as she always seems to be in and out of relationships, although you never see her on a date. But she always seems to be saying "He looks just like my old boyfriend..." whenever she sees someone she likes. As Sailor Jupiter, she is the physically strongest of the inner soldiers and tends to want to fight first and ask questions later. But this is only because she has a habit of thinking with her heart and not with her head. Makoto also has a problem with being big. She is the tallest of the inner soldiers. This is also why her school unifrom in junior high is different from every girl's uniform in the whole school, because there aren't any sizes right for her.
