Evil Angel Lady evil_angel_lady@yahoo.com Dancing G-PG 1/1 I do not own Salior Moon. I wish to thank Aarana for putting up my story and mum for spellchecking or else there would be no story. It just a small story out of bordom. Hope you enjoy reading it. The soft strains of music floated lightly out of the ballroom, as the song ended with a soft lingering note sweeter than any before. The dancers all stopped and looked at the orchestra and clapped with enthusiasm. The next song was a fast waltz cheery and happy like a spring afternoon. I looked across the room, it was like the world stopped. I saw the most handsome man across the room. He was standing with another couple of men talking happily about something; though I couldn’t tell what it was. I slowly made my way closer and closer until I was standing right next to him. I caught one of my friends and started to talk to her. That way, I wouldn’t look silly just standing by the guy and drooling over him like some love stuck puppy. I was standing so close I could smell the cologne on his jet black tuxedo. The scent was wonderful and masculine. I listened into his conversation. I didn’t hear the words, all I could hear was the melody in his voice. His voice sounded like, oh-- it was indescribable. Listening to his voice flooded me with so much emotion. The waltz ended and my friend went to find a partner to dance with. The next song was slow and longing. While I was working up the courage to ask him to dance, I felt a soft tap on my shoulder. “Would you like to dance?” he asked, softly gazing down from above my head, for he was a tall man with a strong build. All I could do was nod my head and smile sheepishly. I was amazed by him. Slowly, one strong arm encircled my waist, the other found my hand. His hands were large and strong; but gentile and soft. The music was soft and flowing (I think the tune was something from Beethoven, but that didn’t matter at the moment) all I could think of was his blue eyes staring right back into mine. The room around me blurred and all I could see was him, no one else. It was the moment you knew you wanted the person your with to stay with you and be yours and that you couldn’t be with any one else. I couldn’t hear the music anymore. I had drifted away into a world where there was only him and I. All I could hear was the beating of his heart, it was racing like mine; but it didn’t show on his face, only happiness. He slowly brought me closer into his embrace. Never once faltering. Never holding me too tight or to loose. I wanted to dance in his arms forever. To see him, touching him, to see into his eyes and see his soul. The feeling was just as wonderful as anything. He was someone you could wake up to, early in the morning. Just too look at his face and hear him breath while he slept. I was brought back to reality to quickly with the ending of the song so soft, so sad. To part with him was something I didn’t want to do, but it was something that must be done or I would never leave his arms. “Thank you...............?” he asked. “Serenity and your welcome,” I answer with a curtsy. It sound so silly, but I was still slightly light headed from the dance. I turned and walked slowly back across the ballroom to were my friends were standing. I stood looking back longingly too see him. Just one more glance would make me so happy. Yet there was none, he was gone. So close yet so far. I wandered around the ballroom to see if he wanted to dance again, but I couldn’t find him he was lost to me. Then I felt a light tap on my shoulder, I turned quickly around to see who it was, hoping it was him. It wasn’t . “ Would you like to dance? ” the man asked. “ OK,” I answered, even though I was sad. It wasn’t my mystery man. I danced with the man, but it wasn’t the same. No soft embrace, no smell, no cheery smile. It was just like any other dance. But, I didn’t want any other partner, I wanted to dance with the man I had danced with earlier. The one with out a name, because I had never found it out. Now I’d never know who he was. I thanked the man for the dance and slowly made my way out side to a bench in the garden. The night air was filled with the fragrant sent of roses. I looked up in to the starry night sky in time to see a shooting star. I made a wish on that star to see the man with no name again; even if it was for just one night. “My I sit here?” a voice behind me asked. I knew that voice it was the voice of the man with whom I had danced. The man I was in love with, yet I barely knew him. My wish had come true. I turned and nodded yes, trying to keep myself from wrapping my arms around him and planting a kiss on his lips. He sat down beside me and stretched out his long legs. “Hello, Serenity. It is a lovely evening isn’t it?” “ What is your name?” I asked with out answering the question. “Endymion,” he answered. We sat there in silence and watched the stars and the planets, in there never ending dance. The small talk we made was not very much. Just little bits here and there about the weather and the stars. But we mostly sat in each other presence, I dosed off but when I awoke I was in his arms. I had slept until the sun had started to rise. We watched in silence until the dark colours of the night faded to the light colours of day. “I must go. It was nice to meet you Serenity”. “ It was my pleasure”. He walked away with that. I watched him go, longing for him to come back. But I knew he would not. So I got up and headed in to the ballroom to find something to eat. It had been a long night and would be an even longer day with out him. But I wished and I hoped that he would come back. So, if just by chance he might come back I kept looking back ever so often. Then, just In case he was following me, I gave one last look. I whispered a sad good bye and went into the room.
