The Real Beryl By Lillian Rating: PG E-mail: Sailorlillian@aol.com Homepage: http://www.envy.nu/crezent ~Please Read~ This is mostly about Queen Beryl. As you know,Beryl was always known as the BAD GUY while Sailor Moon and the gang were always the GOOD GUYS. What I'm going to do is... *grins evilly* Why don't you just read and find out. This story takes place during the Silver Millenium. (When the Silver Millenium was still forming.) *********************************************** Queen Beryl walked back and fourth in the throne room. Her kingdom was suffering. Greed. Who would have thought this once great kingdom would fall from greed? Her people loved the feel of power and money. If only she could put a stop to this. Even though this was her kingdom, this huge problem was out of her reach. She would remember her childhood before IT happened. She would never forget IT. She was never the same after that. How she missed those days before IT happened. One of her many advisors slowly approached the queen and began, "Your highness, we came up with a way to stop this corruption. The other planets are signing a treaty and joining something called The Silver Millenium up on the Moon. If we join, we might have a chance on saving our kingdom." Queen Beryl looked out the see through walls and stared at the bright stars above her. Without turning around, she answered, "I shall tell you my decision later on. I have to think about it." The small woman stammered, "Oh course your Highness. I understand." Queen Beryl walked out the door and headed for her sleeping quarters. 'Mother and Father must really be upset with me. Look what I have done to our kingdom. If only you were still alive.' She let out a tear but quickly wiped it away. She had to be strong. She was only five when IT happened. *flashback* The King and Queen stood side by side next to the space cruiser. They were saying good bye to their only child. It was the first time they were leaving her. "Beryl, we are only going to be gone in a little bit. We just have work outs some things with this planet. We love you darling." The queen embraced her child and then went inside the cruiser. The king stepped forward. Take care of the kingdom while we are gone. Your in charge now sweety." They waved farewell and left. "Please be back soon." whispered a teary eyed Beryl. Beryl was playing a game with her friends when she had heard the news. Her nanny walked up to the princess and announced, "I hate to tell you this Princess but... Your parents had an accident and have gone to a better place." Princess Beryl didn't understand what her nanny had meant. "You mean they went somewhere without me and they aren't coming back to get me? My parents would never do that!" "That's not what I meant Princess." Before she could finish, the young princess ran around the palace halls to her secret room that only she knew about. She cryed for hours and hours trying not to believe they went somewhere and weren't coming back. She was startled as she saw a ghostly figure of her mother. She could faintly hear her saying, "The rise of a great kingdom shall be the fall of the another. The power to choose between evil and goodness. You must choose my dear. We will always be with you." She never shed a tear after her mourning in the secret room. People soon would say the princess (soon to be queen) was no longer the sweet and giggly child but cold and bitter. Her friends seemed to drift away after that. She was all alone. Yet she knew she wasn't really alone. She would always have Endy's friendship. *end flashback* She wasn't really cold and bitter. She was far from that. She didn't want to let people see her as weak. She tried to act strong and brave but the truth was, she was just a scared little child trying to run away from her fears and problems. She remembered what her ghostly mother had told her. (Although she was pretty sure she was seeing things.) The rise of a great kingdom shall be the down fall of another. The light and darkness. You must choose... Those words repeated again and again in her head until she finally fell asleep. Next morning, she woke up and found her advisor standing by the door. "What are you doing here?" The advisor looked startled but answered, "I need to know if you will sign the treaty today." "Yes, of course I will. It is best for the kingdom." The advisor nodded her head and left. She had to be brave. She had to be strong. She got out of bed and walked over to her huge closet, pulling out a silky, navy blue dress. She quickly put it on and ran down for breakfast. While eating, everyone kept nagging her on what to do and what not to do. After the twenth advise, she lost her temper. "I am not a child so do not treat me like one!" Everyone backed away from their queen. Beryl stood up from her seat and went off to the transport room. Queen Beryl waited awhile so she could adjust her eyes. She was at the Moon for sure. She smiled a nervous smile and stood tall. She just hoped Queen Selenity was as kind as she had heard. A few gaurds tried to stop her during her way to the meeting but ignored them all. She then came upon the conference room. She opened the door and gave them one of her best smiles. Everyone stared at the strange woman out the door and the next thing Beryl knew, the Queens from the other planets transformed and surrounded Queen Selenity. Beryl looked around the room confused. "Did you not know I was coming? This is the meeting to put together the Silver Allience is it not?" Queen Jupiter looked at Queen Beryl angerily, "You are not welcomed here Beryl." "Leave at once of face the consequences." Queen Mars snarled. Queen Beryl looked at the rest of the scouts for help. Queen Mercury saw this and softened up, "Let us hear what she has to say. She is after all part of this Solar System." Beryl smiled at Mercury and whispered thanks and continued, "My planet wishes to join the Silver Millenium so we may be at peace with the other planets." Queen Selenity gave Beryl a questioning look, "How is it that you have never shown such interest before? I remember asking awhile back and yet you refused. Why has it changed?" Beryl looked up at the Queen nervously, "I was young back then and didn't understand. Now that I think about it, it would be a good idea to join." Queen Venus smirked, "As you know, Queen Selenity will be the head Queen and you do have to protect the Moon. If I remember correctly, Your planet always wants to be better than everyone else. Would you serve Queen Selenity and the Moon?" Queen Beryl turned red, "I...I...Ooofff cccoouurrrrssseee I will." Queen Mercury nodded her head in disagreement, "I can tell that you do not want that. You would rather be head Queen." Queen Serenity frowned, "I think I would have to talk to my advisors privatly. Please wait out the door." Beryl calmly waited out the door. All the other Queen's were quite rude to her. She knew her parents didn't get along with other royalty but she wasn't like that. She fiddled nervously with her hair. She had so much on her mind and the Moon was the least place she wanted to be. The doors opened suddenly and could see all the Queens smiling happily. Queen Serenity stepped forward. "Queen Beryl, you are banned from stepping foot on the Moon or this whole solar system. We all have discussed this and decided you may not join. Please understand that we can not have a child like yourself rule. Already, your once magnificant city has fallen and we might fall with it." Queen Beryl tried to hide the tears steaming down her face. "If that is the way you feel about it, fine. I once heard that you were one of the most caring and kind rulers there is. I guess I was mistaken. I know I am young but it was not my fault that they were killed." Queen Selenity was about to say something else but Beryl ran away from the conference room. She arrived home and everyone looked at her with hope in their eyes. Beryl could only weep some more and run to her sleeping quarters. They then knew that they could not take part in the joining of the Silver Allience. It was a week after the refusal of Queen Serenity. If her kingdom wasn't suffering, they would have gladly taken her proposal in joining. There was no hope for her kingdom at all. She walked into her bedroom and grabbed something under her bed. It shined when brought up above her. She smiled at the beauitfully crafted dagger. "Forgive me mother and father for ruining your glorious kingdom." A single tear rolled down her cheek as she thrusted the dagger in her heart. A hand maiden made her way to the Queen's quarters. She was frozen with what she saw next. Her Queen lay on the floor, with a knife in her heart. She screamed for help. There was no one else to take the throne. Now the kingdom was in great trouble without a ruler. One of the Queen's advisers snuck out of the castle and started to run towards the poor side of the city. She soon found the dissipitated building.. She had only been there once and knew that the keeper was a very creepy person. A very old woman grabbed the advisor with one of her gnarly hands and guided her to the most sacred room. "I know why you are here. What you must do is to bring her royal highness here." she spat out. The adviser shivered a bit when she glanced at the huge, dark, ebony doors on the right side of the wall. "Yes, I shall sneak her corpse here tonight. What are the consequences?" The old lady simply started to laugh, "If you call making your Queen live again and become more powerful than ever a consequence..." The adviser smiled and ran out the door. Her Queen will live again. The old lady smiled happily as she stared at the door. "She is the one Metallia. She will be able to free you and soon you shall rule the universe." She gently traced the magnificant doors that seeled away Matallia. Evil energy pulsed through her body. She could hear a very low voice whisper, "Free... You shall be awarded soon my loyal subject. Your job will no longer be to watch my doors. You no longer have to live eternally and see your love ones die..." Beryl was in some unknown existance and was very scared. "Where am I?" A bright light appeared before her and she felt peaceful. As she looked closer, she made out a face she had not seen since her childhood years. "Mother." She looked down; ashamed to face her mother. What had surprised her was her Mother was smiling. "My dear Beryl, how I have missed you so." Beryl ran up to her mother and tried to hug her but found out that she wasn't able to. "Beryl, I must show you something." Beryl followed her mother and soon could see white energy surrounding herself. "Do you know what white stands for?" "White stands for purity and inoccence." "So you were paying attention in class all those years." Mother beamed. An image appeared before her and she could see herself yet she was different..Red and black mist surrounded her and she gasped. "I take it you know what this means." Beryl simply stammered, "That's not me Mother." Mother went closer to her child, "It is your body but not your soul." "What do you mean? I am not evil and filled with hatred!" stammered Beryl. Mother looked sadly at her daughter, "They are going to bring you back to life my little Beryl. There is nothing I can do." Beryl's mother started to fade away and the room's light intensified. She closed her eyes to see sudden darkness. She quickly opened her eyes and notices she was in a strange limbo with a hazy soul appeared before her. "I am Metallia. Do you want revenge on the people that killed your parents? I can give you that power to kill your enemies and let you live once more. That is what you want, right Queen Beryl?" "Do you know who killed my parents?" Beryl whispered softly. Metallia laughed, "You mean they didn't tell you? Queen Selenity of the Earth's Moon killed your parents. In order to kill her, you would have to kill the other planets. Do you want power?" Beryl looked at the dark creature, uncertain,"Yes, I guess so." Red and Black mist surrounded her figure. She no longer was the Beryl she once was. Her kindred spirit was ruined with evil by Beryl who was only a pawn in the whole game. ***************************************************** Author's Note: I'm done! Thank goodness!
