There will be action in here! NOWHERE TO RUN, UNABLE TO HIDE CHAPTER 11 Darien was the first to wake up the morning after the revelation of the Dark Moon. He smiled as he glimpsed down at the woman seemingly peacefully asleep in his arms. Planting a butterfly kiss on her lips, he pulled his dark green blazer off and placed it over her sleeping form. Darien stood up and stretched. Despite what had happened the day before, he had slept better then he had in years. A small movement in the corner where Serenity and Endymion were caught Dariens' eye. King Endymion stood up and stretched much the same as Darien had, and put his cape over his wife and daughter. Endymion turned his head and gave a small smile; Darien smiled back, and the King motioned to the door. The two men walked out of the room, leaving the sleeping soldiers to there dreams. ******************************************************************************** Shortly after leaving, Endymion led Darien to the dinning room that they had eaten in last night. "Coffee?" he asked his younger self. "I'll probably need it for later," Darien stated with a small smile. A moment later Endymion returned with two cups of coffee and sat down in the chair across from him. After several minuets of awkward silence, Endymion decided to speak again, "Did you sleep well?" 'Now that was lame, Endy!' Darien looked up over his mug, "A lot better then I have in a long time. You?" Endymion smiled, "I always sleep better when she is with me." He got a far off expression on his face as he spoke, "God, I never even knew how much I missed her." Darien smiled too, "I know. When I broke up with Serena, it was then that I realized just how much she means to me. I never knew she was that special until she wasn't mine." Endymion put down his mug and lowered his head, "I'm sorry for what I did to you two. I didn't want to, but I had to. It was no picnic when I went through what you did." He gave a small chuckle and looked up at Darien, "I swore to myself that I wouldn't do it. There was no way. But I had to. No matter what, I had to make sure that the past remained the same, so that the future would." Darien closed his eyes. It was strange to hear what he felt and what he thought coming from another person. Even if he would turn out to be that person one day, it was still quiet weird. "I don't blame you for what you did, I'm going to have to do it one day too, right?" "Hopefully." "I sure wouldn't want my past self to blame me when I have to do this. Even though I swore not to, I know I will." "Thank you." Endymion set his mug down on the table and gave a quirky grin. "Shall we go and try to wake them up, or let them sleep longer? Though, I don't know how Serenity could possibly sleep more. She was in that crystal for over a month." "Is she still Serena at heart?" Darien asked. Getting an affirmative nod from Endymion he smiled, "There's your answer. She's still Serena; just more graceful and better mannered." "If either of them heard you say that, they'd probably kill you!" came Mars' voice. "No kidding!" Mina said as she took her seat from last night. "They'd murder you for talking about them like that!" One by one, the Sailor Scouts and cats came in. The only people missing where Serena, Serenity, and Rini. They were *really* surprised about that. "Those Meatball Heads," Mars muttered under her breath. "No matter how old she gets, she never knows how to wake up." Raye looked at her future self in some-what disbelief. "She *still* has trouble waking up in the morning?!" she asked in disgust. Mars snorted, "Yeah, still!" "It's getting late," Luna from the future told them. "There could be an attack at any moment. We need them awake, now!" "If you're talking about Mommy and Mama, good luck! Mommy's even worse in the future then she is in the past!" Rini called over the other conversations. "As hard as that is to believe!" she muttered under her breath, stifling a giggle. She walked over and pecked both Endymion and Darien on the cheek before she sat down for breakfast. Endymion and Darien excused themselves from the table and went to the control room to wake up Serena and Serenity. As they were walking out, the girls caught part of what Endymion was telling Darien, "If we can't wake 'em up the normal way, we could always try Rayes' and Lunas' favorite way." "Screaming at the top of out lungs until they wake up?" Darien asked. The others in the room laughed as Endymion and Darien made a quick escape from the fire warriors' wrath, and the cats' claws. "Jerk," all of them mumbled at the same time. ******************************************************************************** Darien and Endymion walked into the room that their loves' were asleep in. Separating, the two walked to their respective loves. Endymion knelt beside Serenity and brushed a strand of golden hair out of her face. 'I almost forgot how soft her hair was. How beautiful her voice was... God, how I missed you, Love.' Leaning down, he planted a small kiss on her lips. As he began to pull away, Serenity chased him and locked him into a passionate kiss. Several moments later they separated. Casting a glance over her husbands' shoulder she saw that Serena and Darien were doing the same thing that they had just been doing. Breaking their own kiss, Serena and Darien smiled at each other and turned to their future selves. "When's breakfast?" Serena and Serenity chirped happily. Darien and Endymion laughed. "About half and hour ago!" Endymion told them with a smile. "I don't know how you can sleep so much, Serenity. You've been asleep in that crystal for over a month." Serenity held his hand and looked away sadly. "It wasn't asleep. But I wasn't awake. It was..." she shook her head. There was really no way to describe what she had felt. "Well, I'm starved! Let's eat!" "YEAH!" Serena chimed in while grabbing Darien's hand and running out of the door. Smiling Endymion and Serenity followed them, at a more...normal pace. Serenity shook her head. "We won't tell them that you do that every morning, ok?" Endymion whispered to her as they walked down the hall. Serenity shot him a look before quickening her pace and passing him. Endymion walked faster trying to catch up with her. Serenity giggled and stepped her pace up to a jog. Endymion jogged up to her and she managed to break into a full-fledged run. Laughing, the two raced to the dinning room. Before they reached it though, Endymion managed to catch up with Serenity. Wrapping his arms around her waist, he pinned her against his body. She didn't struggle; she didn't want to. Turning around in his arms, Serenity looked up at him and smiled her million- dollar smile. Endymion bent down so that their lips barely touched and... "Mommy! Daddy! Knock it off! And I thought Serena and Darien were bad!" Turning the couple saw their five-year-old daughter standing near the entrance to the dinning hall, with her hands on her hips and desperately trying to conceal a smile. Not that *that* was working. The small girl ran to her parents and wrapped her arms around their legs. Endymion bent down and gathered their child in his arms. She hugged him back and giggled as her mother began to tickle her stomach. Laughing and talking, the family walked into the room where the others were. "Took ya long enough!" Mars snorted. "What were you two doing? Making out like these two were when they came in?" she asked motioning to Serena and Darien, who were too busy blushing at Mars' remarks to yell back. Before any of them could open their mouths, Lita and Jupiter came through the large double doors that led to the kitchen and set down two more plates of pancakes and eggs. As usual, Serena and Serenity dug in. They sat down and lifted their forks... ****BOOM!**** The sudden explosion rocked the entire Crystal Palace. Serena was thrown out of her seat as well as almost everyone else who was sitting down. Those who were standing up also fell down, somewhat less gracefully then the others. "What in the world?!" Venus yelled as she picked her self up. "COME ON!" Mercury called as she ran out of the room toward the control room. Darien helped Serena up and Serenity grabbed Rini as they ran out of the room. She didn't want to loose her daughter again. She couldn't. Another explosion rocked the palace as the warriors were running. Serena grabbed a hold of Darien's arm to keep herself from falling, but only managed to cause herself to slam into a wall. "Owie!" she yelled, her eyes filling with tears. She fought them back; this was no time to cry, she had to help. Upon reaching the control room Endymion and Serenity began to act like the rulers they were. "Mercury, see what it is that's hitting us and try to find its weakness! Amy, help her!" Serenity called to them. The two blue haired women nodded and went to work at the control stations. Endymion gave a nod, "I think we're going to need all the Sailor Scouts we can get," he told them. Everyone from the past nodded. "MERCURY STAR POWER!" "VENUS STAR POWER!" "JUPITER STAR POWER!" "MARS STAR POWER!" "MOON CRYSTAL POWER!" In flashes of lights and ribbons, the six teenagers were no longer their, but the legendary champions of justice, the Sailor Scouts. ******************************************************************************** Rini looked around frantically for something important. She knew that this person had to hide, because the Soldiers of the past couldn't see her. At least not yet. She was on the other side of the palace with out anyone else. Rini had gone to see her briefly last night, but only for a short time. She knew that her friend must be terrified right now. 'I won't be gone long,' she thought as she ran out of the control room and down the hall to her friend. ******************************************************************************** Rini ran as fast as her five year old legs would carry her. She hadn't been very worried when the attack had first started, but now she was not only worried-she was terrified! Her breath came in quick pants as she ran faster. Another wave of attacks rocked the palace and Rini gave a small scream. It was just like before. Just like when they first came... 'NO!' Rini told herself firmly. 'Sailor Moon and the others are here! We're stronger! We're braver! They won't beat us! Mommy and Daddy won't let them!' Reaching her destination, Rini began to look for her tiny friend. "Diana?" she whispered while quietly creeping into the room. "Diana, where are you?" She heard nothing. Her tiny gray kitten didn't show her face. Frowning Rini walked to the room that was adjoined to the one she was in. "Diana...! Come out!" "Small Lady?" a timid voice asked. "Yeah! Come here, Diana!" A small, charcoal colored kitten appeared from beneath a stack of pillows. She was shaking and her eyes were round as saucers. Diana ran quickly into her mistresses awaiting arms and purred. "I was worried! Mama and Papa didn't come back after last night. I thought something had happened." Rini shook her head and placed the kitten between her 'rabbit ears.' "No, everyone's alright. We just didn't want Luna and Artemis of the past to see you right then. Everyone from the past had already had a lot of shocks, and you were another one." The two friends walked out together. Rini quickened her pace as she realized how long she had been gone. "I know," Diana replied. "I just- LOOK OUT!" she yelled. Rini gasped as she skidded to a halt in front of a black mass. Gazing up at it, she could see nothing except this darkness. Closing her eyes quickly, Rini hoped for it to disappear; it didn't. A crazed laugh came to the child's ears. Rini gasped. She *knew* that laugh. Quickly, she turned and ran back the direction from which she had come. Blindly, the young Princess and kitten ran as fast as they could. The two felt a coldness over come them. It was bleak...black...heartless. Death. Almost hellish. "Hello, Small Lady," a cold voice boomed. "Do you remember me?" it asked her. Rini stopped. She was frozen as the cold darkness invaded her senses. She couldn't run. She was physically unable to do it. "Wiseman..." she whispered as a cold shiver ran up and down her spine. It had to be him. No one else felt that evil. The laugh sounded through the black chamber. "Correct, Small Lady," he told her as he appeared in front of her, his crystal ball being the only light in the room. "And how are you, dear child? Away from Mommy and Daddy I see." A throaty laugh escaped his cloaked hood. "No matter. Those pathetic rulers wouldn't be able to protect you anyways." Rini tried to control her shaking, but she couldn't. She hadn't been this scared for a long time. She wasn't even this frightened when the Dark Moon first attacked. The cat between her buns jumped from its perch and in front of Rini in a defensive position. The hair on Diana's back stood on end as she hissed in an attempt to frighten the intruder. Wiseman humphed, "Foolish Cat!" Raising his arm, he directed a small, yet sufficient stream of energy at Diana. With a yowl of surprise, the small kitten was thrown backwards into a wall. "DIANA!" Rini gasped, running over to her friend. "Diana?" she whispered meekly as she reached the cat. Lifting her up and stroking back the fur on her neck; Rini attempted to calm the kitten. "Are you alright?" she asked quietly while tears streamed down her cheeks. Her best friend had done that. She didn't know it was in the small kitten. Her friend. Diana gave a pitiful moan, "Small...Lady...You must- run!" she told Rini. She wasn't much older then the bunny-bunned girl, but her parents had taught her enough about being a guardian that she knew that Rini had to get out of the room. She had to protect her charge, her friend. The Princess. "Please, Neo-Princess Serenity. RUN! RUN NOW!" Rini felt tears coming to her eyes. What Diana had just said was the same way that Luna talked to her mother and Serena. It was in the 'I-know-what's-best-for-you' voice. Serena and her mother never listened. She knew she couldn't leave her best friend there alone with such an evil man. "No, Diana. We stay together," she told her confidently as she walked closer, "or we go together." She lifted the tiny form into her arms. Turning, Rini faced the Wiseman. "You are as foolish as your mother, Rabbit!" he sneered. "No matter. You will all die!" he hissed. Raising one bony arm towards Rini he directed his powers toward her and her guardian. "You should have run," he whispered as he finished powering up, "while you had the chance!" Rini tried to run, but found that her legs wouldn't move. Looking up, she saw the power was coming right towards her. Her cinnamon colored eyes became wide and frightened. She screamed, but for some reason, her moonbeam didn't activate. The darkness came screaming towards her, and no one even knew that the pink haired princess had gone to find her friend... To be continued... YES! Stefanie's trademark cliffhangers are back! I know, I know! I'm so evil! Anyway, Hope you liked it and I will have another chapter out next week, and by the moon and stars, it will be longer! If not, may Selene protect me from all you nice people out there! ^_~ Hey, any guesses? Hugs and Kisses, Stef-chan
