Here it is, part 5 of my first fanfic! I want to thank Jolene, Rainy Day, Neo Princes, and David Childs. Another arigato to Sailor Love for her continuing support. Thank you onee-chan for the spoilers! On with the story. DISCLAIMER: I'm broke, I need money, but I can't make it off this fanfic. RATING: It doesn't matter, you would probably read it anyway. But for those of you who need it, it's PG. NOWHERE TO RUN, UNABLE TO HIDE CHAPTER 5 "OH GOD!" Raye yelled. "THIS MEANS THAT THERE ARE TWO SERENA'S!" The newfound family didn't acknowledge the priestess; they just sat there and held each other. Lita, however, did say something. "Baka! Shut up! This is big, so don't tick Serena-Serenity off!" They turned to their friends and watched them for a few more moments. Rini held her parents tight and the three of them sat there, weeping tears of joy. Luna was the first to step forward and address the royalty. "Serena, Darien, Rini," the trio looked up at her with eyes of love. Luna couldn't help but gasp. She knew the answer before she asked the question. "Are you certain that she is your...daughter?" Rini laughed, her laugh sounding so much like Serena's. "Of course, Luna! The crescent moon isn't a bald spot, ya know!" She looked to her parents and smiled shyly. "I just can't believe I never saw it before." Serenity and Endymion shifted back down to Serena and Darien. Rini followed suit. "I can't believe it either," Darien whispered, pulling them into another hug. Mina stepped forward. "This is all really fine and dandy, but if you don't mind, I will be temporarily leaving consciousness now. Excuse me." With that, Mina eyes rolled to the back of her head and she passed out. The others, including the cats, quickly followed suit and fell to the ground. Serena sighed and let go of her loved ones. "I'll go get the smelling salt," she mumbled under her breath. ******************************************************************************** After waking all the Scouts, the seven people and two cats went into the temple. All of them sat in the Fire Room in shocked silence for a few minuets. No one dared to speak, it was too much right now and they were still too shocked. Rini, unable to take the silence and the secrets any longer, spoke up. "I guess all of you have a lot of questions..." she trailed off slowly, unsure where to begin. Serena took Rini into her lap and began to stroke her hair gently, calming her. "Just tell us what you can, Rini. If you don't want to right now, that's just fine. It must be very hard for you." She stopped when she realized that Rini was crying again. "Oh, Mommy!" she cried, wrapping her arms around Serena's neck. Slightly surprised, but pleased, Serena hugged Rini back. After a few more minuets Rini calmed down. "I will tell you what I can. But I can't reveal too much of the future. Puu will get mad at me if I do." Darien put his hand on her shoulder. "It's OK, Rini. Just tell us what you can." "OK. I know that all of you are dying of curiosity, but..." she trailed off slowly and her parents saw the fatigue in her eyes. "It's fine, Rini," Serena told the child softly, taking her into her arms again. "You can tell us in the morning." Rini knew that she would fall asleep for the first time in Tokyo with the feeling of peace. She knew nothing would happen to her because she was safe in her mother's arms. "I love you, Mommy," she whispered. Slightly shocked, Serena began to blush. She and Darien looked at each other, and smiled. THEIR daughter. "I love you too, Honey." Seeing the looks on their friends faces, the girls quickly left. Raye told them that the three of them could sleep in the living room. Serena and Darien nodded. Luna looked at the three and sighed. 'The story may get a happy ending after all.' Luna ducked her head down, to keep the tears of joy from being seen, and she walked out of the room. When the three were alone, Rini looked up to her mother. "Mommy." "Yes, Rini?" Rini looked down shyly, "I was wondering if you could sing that song to me again. 'Rock Me to Sleep?'" Serena looked at her daughter and saw that she was afraid she would say 'no'. "Of course!" Rini's face lit up like a birthday cake. Darien released Serena and sat next to her instead. Serena began to hum and then began to sing the song. When she was finished, Rini was fast asleep. Darien looked at Serena in slight shock. "I didn't know you could sing that well," he whispered. Serena nodded and blushed. "I'm not that good, Darien. It's just one of my hobbies." Darien picked Rini up and carried her to the love seat that was next to the couch. He put her down and then went back to join his love on the couch. Taking her hands, Darien leaned forward and kissed her cheek. "No, Serena. You are very good." Her answer was only another blush. "Why did she ask you to sing that?" Serena looked at Rini and thought for a moment. "I think I sing it to her in the future and mother used to sing it for me. I sang it for her a couple of nights ago. She really likes it I guess." Darien nodded and pulled her in close to him, tucking her head under his chin. "I still can't believe it. A daughter." "Yeah," was Serena's only answer. Concerned, Darien began to question her. "Serena, you OK?" She hesitated before answering. "I'm just wondering what those dreams mean. Why would someone tell us to stay away, when we will have a daughter? It just doesn't make any sense." Darien silently agreed with her and, remembering something, reached into his pocket. "Here, Serena," he said putting the object into her hand. "You dropped this earlier." Serena opened her hand and saw the Star Locket sitting there. "Darien, thank you." Darien leaned in and planted a sweet, gentle kiss on her lips. "Thank you, Serena. You are my life and my love. I can't live without you. I don't care what those dreams say; I will never stop loving you. Besides, Sailor Pluto said that they would be explained tonight. So I say we go to sleep." Serena nodded an agreement and snuggled into his embrace and, was soon fast asleep. The last thing Darien did before he feel asleep was take the hand Serena had the locket clutched in and hold it tight. ***********************************<:Dream:>************************************ Darien stood watching the events before him. It was his dream again, only this time he wasn't participating in it. He was watching it. Serena came up beside him and took his hand. "Darien, what's going on?" "I don't know," he answered her truthfully. They both knew that they were dreaming, but couldn't quiet figure out why they were sharing the dream. Just as Serena in the dream was about to die, the dream stopped and faded into the darkness of the young couple's minds. "What the," Serena whispered, gripping Darien tighter. Darien held her close to him and looked around. They were dreaming together and Darien could still feel her, like she was real. Darien looked around and saw something coming from the fog. Serena saw it too and clutched Darien tighter then before. He pulled her behind him and glared at the approaching figure. As it got closer, the two began to make out its features. Tall, blue-black hair, wearing a tuxedo and carrying a sword. "Tuxedo Mask?" Serena whispered. The figure approached the couple and stopped a few feet away from them. "There is no need to panic, I will do you no harm." Serena and Darien gave a start. Serena's eyes widened in fear and Darien's narrowed in anger. "You," Darien hissed. "The voice from my dreams." Serena looked at the man before them and agreed with him. "It is you. You're the person who told Darien to stay away from me!" Serena took a step back and Darien glared at the man vehemently. "Who are you?!" Darien yelled at him. "Why have you done this to us?" He pulled Serena behind him and held her wrist in his hand. The figure held up his hands. "Please, let me explain." There was something in his voice that calmed Serena. She stopped shaking and looked at the man with interest. Only Darien had this kind of a calming effect on her. When the two didn't say anything, the man continued. "My name is King Endymion. I am your future self, Darien." "WHAT?!" Darien yelled. "How?" "As I asked before, let me explain. Yes, I am your future self, and the one who sent the two of you the dreams." Noticing that Serena was going to say something, Endymion cut her off. "Wait Serena, let me explain my actions." "You see, the dreams stand for something. They stand for the love the two of you share. They were a test of this love; to see how strong it is." "I failed miserably, didn't I?" Darien questioned with his eyes down. Serena took his hand and squeezed it reassuringly. "In a way you failed, but you passed too. You see, you could have told Serena about the dreams. Or even Luna or the girls. However, you did put your personal feelings aside for her safety and benefit. That takes courage." He looked at the two and smiled again. "Besides, when I was in your shoes, I did the same thing." "Is Rini really..." Serena trailed off the question. She still didn't believe it. "Yes, Serena. She really is yours and Darien's daughter. And I do know that that is hard to believe. I can answer no more questions. Tomorrow, Sailor Pluto will visit you again. Go with her and then the rest will be explained." Serena and Darien nodded at Endymion. He turned and prepared to leave when Serena stopped him. "Wait!" Endymion turned back around and raised an eyebrow at her. She took a deep breath and continued. "How are we both able to be here? Even the two of us have never shared a dream before. Or at least not like this. Not this real." Endymion smiled. "Darien, do you remember the other night when you were watching Serena and Rini?" Serena looked up at Darien with curious eyes. He flashed her a look that said 'LATER.' "Yes, why?" "Well that night you thought that the locket would unlock one of the mysteries in your life. Well, it did." Catching their confused looks, Endymion chuckled. "You see, the two of you fell asleep holding hands with the locket in your hands." The couple still looked at him questioningly. "The locket, as you know, is the symbol of your love. It is one of the few things that has survived with you over time. It has brought your souls and hearts back together and now, it has brought your minds together. It has solved one of your mysteries, what do the dreams mean." Endymion turned and, once again, prepared to leave. He stopped short and turned back. "When you get back, please, tell Rini I love her and miss her." Serena smiled in understanding. "Of Course! And thank you!" she called as he began to fade away. "Yes," Darien whispered, wrapping his arms' around Serena's waist. "Thank you." ******************************************************************************** Serena's eyes cleared and focused on Amy's very concerned face. "She's coming to!" she called to the other occupants of the room. "Same here!" came Raye's voice. "Easy Darien. You Ok?" Serena sat up and looked around the room. She noticed that she was still in the living room. Amy was standing by her with her computer in hand; Raye was by Darien, making sure he was all right; Lita, Mina, and the cats were calming down a hysterical Rini. "What's going on?" Serena asked, confused. Rini looked up and saw that her parents were awake. "MOMMY! DADDY!" she yelled as she ran up to Serena and threw her arms around her neck. Serena was thrown back by the force of her future daughter and ended up lying back down. "Hey, hey, Kiddo. I'm OK. Don't cry." Darien got up and kneeled down next to the two. "We're just fine, Rini. Actually better the fine." Darien turned to the Scouts. "What's wrong? Why so all of you seem so worried?" The others gave him a blank stare. "You mean you don't know what happened?" Artemis asked. Darien thought for a moment. "Well, Serena and I went to sleep, and then had this weird dream." He proceeded to tell the other about what had been happening. Everything. He told them about how he had had the dream and Serena told them that she had it too. Although only once. The group absorbed this information and sat in silence for a while, with Rini sitting in Serena's lap. "Well," Artemis started. "Did he say when Sailor Pluto is supposed to come, and what we are supposed to do?" Serena shook her head. "No. He just said sometime today." The others nodded, and Serena turned to Darien. "So you were *spying* on me, Darien Shields?" The other girls' heads snapped up and each of them had a wicked gleam in her eye. 'Great, Serena, great! You had to bring it up in a room full of gossip-hungry vultures!' Darien thought. Rini looked at him, "Wait a minuet. Was that the other night when you gave Serena back her locket? The same night you overheard my conversation with Puu?" Before Darien could answer, Serena began asking questions. "Who's Puu?" "You don't know her?" Serena shook her head no. "Oh. Well Puu is Sailor Pluto, the Guardian of Time. She watches over the time gate and is the one who told me to stay with you. Or she told me to stay with what ever girl I talked to first." Rini looked thoughtful. "That's strange that you don't remember. Mommy told me that when she first introduced Daddy to her. In the Silver Millennium, she introduced her as 'Puu,' instead of 'Sailor Pluto!' So the name stuck and when I first met her, Mommy introduced her as 'Puu' to me too." "Well," Darien muttered. "That explains why it sounded familiar. It was from the past." "Anyway," Mina interrupted, with the evil gleam still in her eye. "What were you doing outside of Serena's bedroom?" "Yes," Luna asked. "Do tell." Darien cast Serena an evil glance and then looked back to the vultures. "It was after the first battle with Emerald. Because they knew who Serena was, I decided to keep an eye on her for as long as I could. I stayed there until after the meeting time..." Darien proceeded to tell the story of what he had over heard, and prepared for another lashing. But none came. Before any of the listeners could open their mouths again, a flash of light appeared in the room. For a brief second, no one could see anything. When the light died down, Sailor Pluto was in the room, on one knee before Serena and Darien in respect. "Serenity, Endymion. I have an urgent request from your future selves to come with me to the future." "PUU!" Rini yelled as she ran to her friend. Pluto smiled, setting down the time staff she always had to carry; she opened her arms and hugged Rini tightly. "Hello, Small Lady. How are you?" "I'm fine." Rini smiled but then her smile faded. "Why do they need to go to the future?" Pluto smiled and stood up. "I can not say. But it is most important." She turned back to her Prince and Princess. "Will you come? All of you may come, of course." The group exchanged a look. Remembering Endymions' words, Serena and Darien nodded. The others agreed too. "Thank you." Sailor Pluto whispered as she held her Time Staff at ready. Muttering words the Scouts could not here, she opened a portal. Turning back to Serena and Darien she spoke with them again. "Sereni-" Serena cut her off nervously. "Uh, Pluto, could you just make it Serena? I hate formalities." "Same here. It's just Darien." Pluto shook her head in amusement. "Same old Serenity, same old Endymion. It's a deal." She turned to her handy work and explained what it was. "This is a time hole. It will lead you to the Gates of Time, my post. Once there, you will need to travel through the Time Warp to reach Crystal Tokyo. In order to do all this, all of you will need to transform." The warriors nodded and prepared to morph. "Mars Star Power!" "Mercury Star Power!" "Venus Star Power!" "Jupiter Star Power!" "Moon Crystal Power!" Darien held up a rose and transformed into Tuxedo Mask. When all the warriors were transformed, Sailor Pluto led the way through the portal. When the last occupant of the room had entered, the portal disappeared. OK that's it for this week. I am sooooooooo sorry if this sucked! I had really bad writers' block and sat at my computer for a long time trying to figure out what I was going to write. I finished like ten minuets before I sent it in! I'll have a better part out next week. Promise. E-mail me and tell me what you think. Later fellow Sailor Moon lovers! Stef-chan
