Altaverse Drive 
The differences between Altaverses and Divergences have always been the hardest to explain, but here goes nothing. 
Definitions of Altaverse
  • A universal or worldwide change/event, not directly connected to the original story or cast, has taken place sometime in that world's history. Example: The United States loses World War II.
  • An alteration to the cast, of which they had no foreknowledge, control, or influence. Example: So-and-so is born the opposite gender. Akane dies at birth. Mrs. Tendou does not die when the girls are young. Kasumi grows into a "bad girl."


    • Keep in mind that these alterations would usually take place or manifest themselves prior to the start of the original Ranma story.

    There's certainly more than this, but you get the general idea, I hope.
