Notes: I know, I know, heroes aren't supposed to die, but I think I need to get on with it because I already have ideas for a second and third "book" in my series. Toodles!

Chapter12: Death of the Dragon

Trunks, Goten, and 18 stared along with everyone else. Meftul's laughter echoed in their ears and across the plains.
"I can't feel her ki. She's gone," said Trunks silently.
Goten nodded, a single tear rolling down his face.
The two teenagers, who had known each other all their lives, looked at one another. They nodded.
Their arms and legs began to do strange movements. They shouted, "Fu...sion...Ha!" Their fingers pointed to the other, and their two forms began to meld. A bright light engulfed them.
Meftul stopped laughing. "What? The old arts here? How can this be? I was led to believe that it was only known to to the houses of Yadrat and Namek. Oh well, it matters little."
When the light dimmed, a level three super saiyajin stood where Goten and Trunks had been only seconds before. Gotenks charged up his ki as Meftul began to charge.
Gotenks released the titanic blast with a scream of rage akin to a beast's. The diameter of the wave wa so large that it actually hit home, driving Meftul into the ground.
Then, the spectral evil appeared hovering over 18's head. laughing wildly, he shot a beam from his finger. 18 didn't see it, but Gotenks did. He recklessly threw himself between the android and her assailant.
Gotenks screamed in pain as the small beam undid the fusion.
"Shimatta!" spat Trunks, "We can't-"
"-stay fused long enough to be effective, Kuso," finished Goten.
As Goten finished his sentence, a silvery forcefield surrounded Goten, Trunks, and a very confused Juu-hachigou. Meftul beat at the forcefield with all his strength and screamed his rebellion to the silent stars.
Right in front of the three senshi, a warping began. at first, it simply looked as though someone had twisted the air, then it began to grow. finally, it looked like a mirage, an apparition of some kind. And it looked like Cillia.

It-she-smiled. "Goten, Trunks, and friend Juu-hachigou. I'm sorry to inform you that you won't be seeing me again for quite some time. There isn't much time, and I must hurry. When I died, I had no selfish thoughts. I thought only of you. That is why I can give you these."
She had been clasping her hands over her chest. Now she brought them down to open them. Three opals rested in her palms. They were cut in huge ovals, unnaturally large for any found on earth. they were the darkest and most colorful opals Trunks had ever seen. Two of them were slightly bigger than the third.
"These are karema, wish stones. they each have the power of the dragon to grant one wish. The larger two can only be activated by two people-friends- that are of the same race and gender. The smaller can only be activated by one of Lei descent." Cillia smiled. "Juu-hachigou, I put in your care two of the karema. One I wish for you to give to Krillin, the smaller. The other I want you and Bulma to use as you see fit. Hold out your hands," Cillia said. The blonde adroid held out her trembling hands.
Two opals in Cillia's hand dissappeared in a silvery shimmer. They reappeared in Juu-hachigou's outstreched palms. Tears slid down her cheeks.
"And to you, the ever valiant warriors," Cillia said, turning her face to Goten and Trunks. "What a small token it is. I fear all I have to give you, the most important people in my life, is a single wish. Use it well, my..." Cillia drifted off as she began to fade. "TAKE IT!" she screamed, throwing the stone at them before she faded away completely. The last sign of her was a single tear that dropped from her fading eye. It landed with a splash in the disturbed soil. And before their eyes, from that tear grew a single, budding white rose.
