the tale

pegasus is really elios, guardian to the land of illusion until it was attacked by the dead moon circus and covered in darkness. when elios saw the light of chibi-usa's dream, he was transformed into his other form, pegasus and came to her in dreams.

at one point in the season, the amazoness quartet reversed the ages of chibi-usa and usagi. chibi-usa was happy that she was older looking, and that she could impress elios. but he never came to her in her dreams. eventually he found her and said he couldn't see the light anymore. elios said she'd attained her dream of becoming an adult from the power of the new moon, and that she must return to her true dream or he wouldn't be able to find her ever agian. chibi-usa became very sad and began running towards him. when she ran through a stream of light, she was transformed back to her old self - and the light from her dream shined again. pegasus thanked her, and leaned in to kiss her. but before he got to her, elios transformed into his humanoid form. he introduced himself as the guardian of the golden crystal, elios - the protector of people's dreams.

his past

elios lives in the land if illusion, a world that lives off the energy of beautiful dreams. one day the dead moon circus came searching for the golden crystal, and took elios captive. if the golden crystal fell into their hands, illusion would become a land of darkness and nightmares, and everyone on earth would lose their dreams. elios was locked away - and the dead moon circus continued to search. one day, he saw the light of a beautiful dream. when he found the light, he was transformed into the form of pegasus, a winged horse who could travel through dreams.

in the times of the silver millennium illusion was also known as the golden kingdom, and was ruled over by prince endymion. elios' job was to watch over illusion, the earth and his prince. there is a strong link between elios, illusion and endymion. if endymion is hurt, both elios and illusion share the pain. if illusion is taken over by the dead moon circus and fades, so does elios and endymion.

in the end ...

in the end, nehelenia finally captured chibi moon and took out her dream mirror, finding Pegasus inside of her dream. with elios and his golden crystal in her grasp, elios used the last of his power to return chibi moon's dream mirror to her body so she wouldn't die. with elios lying weak on the groud, nehelenia raises the golden crystal to finish him, when she realizes it has been replaced by ... a pineapple! eventually the crystal is returned to elios and nehelenia is once again sealed in a mirror.

through out the super s series it became obvious that chibi-usa had a bit of a crush on him. he seemed to have feelings for her too, but in the end he returned to illusion to take care of his land.

in my humble opinion

i'm not sure why i like elios ... after all, he does like chibi-usa *shudder* and we all know how much i like her. she is alot more tolerable when she becomes usagi's age i must admit, and when she isn't doing something stupid. ah well, he is pretty neat - he is the guardian of dreams after all, and thinks nothing of himself as long as illusion is safe. i guess this technically puts him in the same league as the shitennou, since he is endymion's guardian priest ... but the shitennou are still neater ^_^
